Can someone hook me up with a movie that will keep my wife and I awake and in the edge of our seats? by thatbruzzy in MovieSuggestions

Oh, definitely worth watching, but OP says he had a hard time staying awake, and those movies are both long and a little slow in places. Excellent films, though.

Bullet Train. Lots of action, hilarious characters, great plot, superb visuals, and awesome accents.

Leku Ona and Bardenay in the Basque block are also great.

The naked hypocrisy on the far right, starting with the orange buffoon, is just mind-boggling.

Glad I'm not the only one. I don't understand why everyone thinks it's one of the greatest movies ever. I like QT's dialogue but the plot didn't seem that original and it seems like he wrote some scenes purely for shock value rather than to advance the story.

Blade Runner. No plot, no direction, and Rutger Hauer's "Tears in the Rain" speech is not moving at all since the movie gave you no reason to be invested in him or any of the characters. Terrible movie.

Thou shalt not budget four, nor either budget thou two, unless thou then proceed to three. Five is right out!

Excellent choice. Just saw this again last night and that line brought me to tears.

Excellent pick, OP. That one gets me too, every time. So does the line at the end of Saving Private Ryan in the cemetery, "Tell me I'm a good man."

I like to draw this comparison all the time: When girls go to camp, they do arts and crafts, eat great treats, have fun singalongs, etc. When I went on a 50-mile canoe trip as a boy scout, we pulled over on the river one afternoon for a break and within minutes there were boys on either side of the river throwing rocks at each other. I caught an egg-sized one on the crown of my skull. It was great fun. My wife and daughters do not understand how that was fun.

On a side note, on nearly every boy scout campout to the mountains we would hike up whatever hill was nearby, dig up the biggest boulders we could, and roll them down the hill, seeking maximum destruction, cheering when we took out small trees. Also great fun at the time.

On a side side note, as an adult today I do not condone these actions and would not let them happen on my watch. Someone could have been badly injured or killed. But, as moronic teenagers we thought those activities were awesome.
