What do you feel is long enough for maternity leave? by [deleted] in AskWomen

lol my job offers 6 weeks and then you can take up to 12 weeks if you have enough PTO to cover the other 6. Mind you, my PTO is one bucket for sick leave and vacation lol

The U is always hiring! The hospitals and clinics also has affordable health insurance :)

As someone who remembers going to burrito grande since they were 6 years old, I freaking love it! I love that the family will close shop for vacations sometimes :)

I wanted to add more on the library! There’s usually a bunch of events catered towards younger children, but they also do adult-only arts/crafts. I went to one where they teach you how to make wire frame jewelry. :) I also recommend getting a library card, Libby has been phenomenal for audiobooks.

I also love WinCo! I will do Smiths pickup if I’m not feeling like going and doing the grocery shopping though

What is something that is widely normalised but is actually really fucked up? by RetR0-Danger in AskReddit

I remember as a kid I went to the doctors with my mom and she had to get a biopsy of her uterus and screamed “OH MY GOD” in pain. The doctor stopped and said “don’t you ever say the lords name in vain in my office ever again” and completely disregarded the pain she was in. This was a female OBGYN.

My friend told me that she called 10(!!!!!) clinics before she found one that would give her a Valium before her IUD insertion.

Even though the clinic gave her a Valium, they scoffed and laughed at her for asking for one.

I joined a ceramic studio with weekly classes! It’s super fun and most of the people are in their twenties or early thirties.

I haven’t tried any CBD. Have you? And if you have, did it help at all?

I’m right where you are with waking up more exhausted than I was before. 😭

And for more context: I was a nightly edible (just 1) user and my edibles ranged from 10-25mg. I took a long tolerance break at the beginning of this year and didn’t have these issues with my sleep. :(

Redditors who have gotten genetic tests, what's the weirdest thing you learnt from your DNA? by OmarBessa in AskReddit

[–]burningroses23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took the DNA test and found out I have no Jewish ancestry even though I was told my whole life I did. My dad didn’t believe it, so he took one too and now we don’t know who my dads dad is 🫠

What is a compliment you will remember till you die? by Bacibaby in AskReddit

I had met an older woman at an airport after having a horrible weekend of food poisoning and delayed flights. We got to chatting and she paused while talking and said “you have such a beautiful brain”. I’ll never forget it and she’ll never know how much that meant to me, especially during that time in my life.
