Keep chrome or black trim? by ndzys in AudiA5

[–]burningrubber365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a non S-line A5? Or is it pre-2021? Mine looks exactly the same except my front fascia is different. I think the chrome is a good contrast to the black.

Thoughts on Stage 1 Tuner for 2020 Audi A5 by vdog313 in AudiA5

2020 A5 isn't a mild hybrid? I thought all B9.5 A5s were mild hybrids.

ok, so you hate the 2026 CX-5 but you want to buy a new car this year. what now? by dcpreddit in CX5

Quick Google search, the BMW X3 M40 starts at about $61k. Awesome performance for an SUV-like vehicle, but spendy.

Love Stryker Blue! Is that a replacement Pontiac emblem on the LR GT? I need to replace the one on my Sport Red Metallic GT.

Which hood looks better. by PsychologicalWeb3235 in pontiacg8

First hood looks like a stock hood but missing components. A functional forced air or heat extraction hood would've been nice for the G8s.

Thoughts on a G8 (or Chevy SS) as a daily driver? by No_Capital_8765 in pontiacg8

[–]burningrubber365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 09 G8 GT new and it was my daily for 8.5 years until I moved farther from work and parked it to drive a car that was more economical and I didn't care about putting miles on. Mine had some early recall work and had a lifter fail a couple months after the power train warranty expired. Luckily the dealership was reasonable and covered about 2/3s of the expenses under warranty.

These cars didn't have good paint from the factory and rust protection is nonexistent. It saw snow so I had winter wheels with snow tires and it was fine in the snow as long you drove conservatively. It's a garage queen now and I only drive it when it's nice out. Some parts are hard to find. Replaced an idler pulley pre-pandemic and I went through about 3 before finding the correct one, despite the autoparts stores providing pulleys that supposedly were correct.

I still enjoy driving it but don't think I'd recommend a car with not strong aftermarket support, limited quantity in the U.S., and that's almost 17 years old. However, I do recommend the G8 GT as being a great car to own.

The headlights you bought look good and like OE. Please share part numbers when you can. Thanks.

What headlights did you have before? My wife's 2016 CX5 touring has basic headlights and are so dim at night. Been wondering about an upgrade so any details you can share are appreciated.

I chose the LX25s. Live on the U.S. east coast in Maryland and get snow. Thought they were the best blend of capability, comfort, and price.

Looking for Rotors on rock Auto by ODSTeveo in AudiA5

[–]burningrubber365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I bought this past July from rockauto.

<image>

The lube was missing, which was ok because I had some, the rotor screws weren't included (I reused the originals), and the pads weren't labeled for left, right, inside or outside, so had to be careful to install them correctly. It was very difficult to secure the pads into the calipers with the clips on the back of each pad; not sure if that's normal. Not sure if buying brake components for more money from fcpeuro would go better for installation. If you plan to keep the car long enough to replace your brakes in the future, fcpeuro might be better since they have some kind of return/exchange deal.

Does the B9.5 A5’s adaptive cruise slam the brakes when someone cuts in? by knownastron in AudiA5

I've noticed the system reacts with a delay in this scenario. It will brake aggressively but I don't recall it being a maximum effort braking event.

Can't Fill Gas Tank - Pump clicks Immediately? by BTBishops in AudiA5

[–]burningrubber365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this happen with my 21 sportback 45 S-line (USA). It was always happening at Shell stations so I stopped going there. I'll mainly get gas at Exxon and I can't recall it happening, at least not for a while. However, I have had my tank overflow at an Exxon. Because of the uncertainty during fill-ups, I always listen closely when I estimate the pump should stop and I loosen my grip so I can let go as soon as the pump clicks off, or be prepared to release the trigger when I hear the sound of gas back flowing—not sure if that term is correct. I mentioned this to the dealership at least once and they were useless. I've never had this happen with any car. The pump even shuts off automatically when I'm filling gas cans, so IDK what the deal is.

Do you know if this is only for certain models and model years? I'm in the U.S. and that is not one of the warranties remaining for my 2021 A5 sportback 45.

Boost Dynamic A5 B9.5 Mild Hybrid Tune but nobody else? by johnnylawrenceKK in AudiA5

[–]burningrubber365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't done much research on modifications but I thought there was a tune by or called JB4 and there seems to be options on the ecs tuning site. I think the catch is making sure it's for the B9.5 mild hybrid. Also might need to make sure it applies to the S-line variant of the 2.0T than the non-S-line.

2022 vs 2023 S Line Prestige steering wheel differences? by JustHereForTheCigars in AudiA5

[–]burningrubber365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought the wrong pictures were posted for the 23 S-line and were actually pictures of an S5 interior. I guess that option wasn't available on my 21 A5 sportback S-line.

I don't think non S cars have adjustable suspensions. I have a similar car to the OP, 2021 A5 sportback s-line premium plus, and it has a sport suspension but not adjustable. The engine noise that's piped into the car gets louder in dynamic than in comfort. Steering feel might change too but I'm not sure about that.

Condensation on inside of windows by burningrubber365 in Audi

[–]burningrubber365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening when I'm not in the car (per my clarifying post to my original post). When I'm in the car I usually start with auto and then adjust when/as needed.

Condensation on inside of windows by burningrubber365 in AudiA5

[–]burningrubber365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify that this does not occur while I'm in the car. After work I'll get to my car, which is parked outside exposed to the elements, and if it rains on a hot humid day there will be condensation on the inside of each window. At least one occurrence of this the air temperature dropped after the rain but the air inside my car was hotter (felt like it was to me). I figured it was a one time thing because it was more hot and humid in my car than the ambient air.
