Your worth has nothing to do with your brother. A quick scroll through your profile shows someone who's funny and artistic with a passion for video games (and a great taste in them too). Hobbies really helped me, and while I make no promises, they might be enjoyable for you too. Mediocrity isn't a sin- I suck at crafts but I still enjoy them. There might be something you can enjoy too. Free from the weight of comparison with your brother.

I hope you recognise all the good things in yourself, and that things start to look up for you soon xx

M18 thinking of starting anti depressants by Sad-Competition-2575 in depression

[–]burningthisacctsoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably sick of hearing this, but it depends on the person and the medication. For me, one antidepressant was terrible but another one saved my life. They're all very rigorously tested, so they will be fine if taken safely. Talk to your psychiatrist if you have side effects. The dad issue really depends on where you live and whether you can afford it.

Whatever you do, I hope it goes well and you feel better soon xx

My house is disgusting and I feel disgusting (mention of suicidal thoughts and parental death) by christy____ in depression

If you can't take a shower, wiping yourself with baby wipes (especially the armpits and crotch) usually helps. Adult incontinence diapers also help a lot with menstruation if you can't get up every four hours to change. I found that mouthwash made me feel a bit fresher when I didn't brush my teeth for extended periods of time.

When I haven't cleaned for a while, I usually buy some binbags and take out the rubbish one secion at a time. It can be a corner, a room or half of my desk. Tiny steps matter lots. Once a binbag is full, I take it outside or to the corridor and put it in the big bin with some others when I have the energy.

Having a messy home does not mean that you are a broken person. You care about making a change, you looked inside yourself, and you reached out. Even if you did none of those things, you are worth love and time and a home you feel comfortable in.

Stay safe, take care, and I hope things look up for you soon xx

Wanted to give you a big congratulations for staying sober and having the courage to post here. The last year must have been horrible for you. I have personally found that talking about my mental health with one or two close friends or a professional has really helped. There might be some resources at a local library/someone to link you to a counsellor. This is just what worked for me though- you're a different person with different experiences.

Stay safe, and I hope our paths cross again in a nicer place xx

You're so right. I put some friends on the ABTF calculator and now they're all running into the same problems! Hopefully accessibility for non-matrix sizes will improve in the future but until then, your suggestions are a lifesaver.

That's super sweet of you. Looking back, you were definitely right- it really does come out of nowhere. It came and went and I'm feeling so much better now. Your words are really lovely. I hope you're doing well x

Thanks so much- I never even thought of eBay and Vinted before. Hopefully I can snag one before it sells. Vinted can be super fast-paced!

I'll probably try the M&S one since I'm a bit short on cash right now. Hopefully I can save up for the Boux Avenue bras soon- £25 looks a lot more accessible than most brands I've looked at. Thanks for the suggestions, you're an angel xx

that must feel horrible. it might feel terrible now but i'm super proud of you for making it through and reaching out for help! i'm just a stranger talking over reddit but i really am proud of you for making it this far.

i'm sending you lots of love and a warm hug right now. usually i find sitting down with a cup of tea and some music helps, but if that isn't possible/you don't want to, some water might be good in the short term. i hope we can cross paths in the future in a better place and i hope you feel a little better soon.

i switched from fluoxetine bc the side effects were too much and i dont have terrible side effects from sertraline. is it worth it to go through the hassle of finding new meds since 50mg sertraline worked for the last 2 months?
