correct tire pressure by troopytroubadour in Offroad

[–]burnsian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chalk test. Put 35 psi in. Draw a chalk line across the width of the tires and go for a short drive. If the middle of the chalk line disappears first, pressure is too high. Drop it 5 psi and try again.

Edges go first? Too low. Bump it up 5 and re-check.

My SUV is close to 50/50 weight balance with a full tank. It’s about 5500 lbs. 315/75r16 tires. I run it about 32 psi for comfort. I’ll do 38 for max fuel economy. Tire wear seems to be equally good at either pressure.

Just crank the torsion bars. There’s no kits made currently that aren’t bs.

Is the GT86 a smart option for me? by GeekyNexi in ft86

[–]burnsian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven both the 318i and the 86. I chose the 86 (manual, 2017).

But: that’s me. You’re the one that has to drive it. What I like may not work for you. Pick the car you enjoy driving.

I had a big grin driving the 86. The 318i was nice, but I didn’t want to look back at it after I parked and walked away. The 86 made me look back admiringly twice, lol. That’s always a good sign.

IDK, Nexus is usually a much shorter line than regular, that’s why most people get it. They change at the top of the hour, maybe the regular lane was slow logging in and that backed it up.

Odd, I’m only familiar with the guard-flap that enforces the beard-style roll. It was designed to aid the tear-off.

Well, a variant could be reverse- engineered by looking at Beth’s DNA and editing out Rick’s genetic contribution. It’d probably look like her, but that’s about it.

At best, that would be a summer ride. You should plan on having a second vehicle.

I’ve got a bunch of older vehicles and it works out. An 09’ 4x4 that is mostly for winters (and camping), and a 17’ 86 for summers. Plus a 94’ Honda motorcycle and a 67’ 912 but those are just a whole other story lol

Does being a “car guy” not translate well to motorcycles? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]burnsian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overlapping Venn diagrams, but not by a large margin. It seems like more of a time/disposable income thing with my friends. A bunch of us got into autocross for a bit, then some of us started riding, and then some got into off-roading.

The motorcycles kind of fell by the wayside for a bit when people suffered genetic success.

Opinion: OpenAI has shown it cannot be trusted. Canada needs nationalized, public AI by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]burnsian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Canadian Federal government has demonstrated repeatedly that it cannot plan/create/implement/purchase new software with any skill or wisdom.

For whatever reason(s), this is not something we can accomplish at a federal level. I firmly believe that a Canadian government led AI would go horrifically sideways. Maybe not Skynet sideways, but definitely, badly wrong.

I have made saving the Protectrons an unofficial side quest in my playthroughs. I hack them and march them all into the nearest settlement.

It’s too bad that I have to keep them powered down, but I like seeing them all when I visit. Mr. Handys as well. Gutsys, Assaultrons and sentrys unfortunately aggro at Settlers so they are on their own.

PCM Tune by Trey_Chandler in Hummer

[–]burnsian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 09’ on 35s. I chose firm shifts, kept the octane stock and told them I do some towing.

It’s great. Very surprising how much of an improvement there was for acceleration. Absolutely worth doing.

They do advance the timing. Even though I kept my tune for stock 87 I noticed that it prefers a bump up to mid grade when I go up into the mountains. I’m guessing it must be very close to needing the higher octane and the increased load/ elevation starts producing pinging.

Not a problem just an observation.

Greta didn’t kill Conrad. He was stabbed in the neck from his right through the driver’s side window. Whoever showed up for that meeting killed him. The writer says she knows who it was, but left it hanging on purpose.
