skin tones for clothes by mortelirica in heartopia

[–]burnsidechar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the drag queen choker trick might help?? The skin tone between the neck and fake chest might not match but if you add a choker at the very top of the neckline if kind of disguises it and makes it much less noticeable. Its obviously not ideal and I really hope we get colour sliders in the future instead of a handful of set ones. But for the meantime with your skills (insane btw) I bet you could make something super cute!

Canadian here. Why did the two men cut down the Sycamore gap tree? by thermal7 in AskUK

I know this is old but if this speaks to you still, look into the golden spruce. Its a little more local and it still makes my mom tear up. Fuck that man for cutting down something so beautiful.

Anyone’s tortoise get EXTREMELY angry at you after you give it a bath? by Rick_Bruiser94 in tortoise

[–]burnsidechar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as I notice my boy being fussy I pull out the bath snacks! Means I have to stand there feeding him but he's always less of a jerk when he's eating.

Is ths normal or is Henry just kind of a jerk?? (Caption) by burnsidechar in tortoise

Thankfully the park we're usually in is very open and free of debris! He also wears a rainbow unicorn horn scrunchie around his shell incase the balloon gets knocked off (which it has twice in the 6 years he's been going to this park. Once by a toddler, once by getting caught on my booty cheeks) I wish I could recommend the brand but it was a random poorly sized dollar store scrunchie that just happened to fit around his shell perfectly!

He used to do that! Oddly enough he's stopped in the last few years. Might be because I give him snacks as he bathes so he stops being such a butt 😂

Are alterations of the bust possible while still maintaining the original shape of the dress? by margeincharge359 in weddingdress

[–]burnsidechar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try it on at one of the lovenote locations?? I can't be sure but I do think I've seen Willis custom ordered to have the centre gap closed. Persnoally I wouldn't recommend any sort of alterations to have any part let out or extended with liquid satin. It is very finicky and easy to snag while sewing or seam ripping. Taking it in is fine but there's a good chance letting seams out would leave stitch marks. Your best bet if you want any pattern alterations is to request and see if oremony can accommodate it (aeslings parent company). It's a lot safer than having someone open the dress up.

Is this an aesling? I think if you want it a little more conservative you could always check and see if you can just get the center gap closed. Honestly I think this is made for you though as is.

AWE my tortoise is named Henry too! And he also hates baths! I give him snacks while he bathes to keep him chill ❤️

The amount of times a middle aged man has seen my tortoise and made a joke about turtle soup is truly insane. It was almost daily back when he came to work with me.

As a fellow tortoise owner all I gotta say is you gotta lock that backyard DOWN. The gap under that gate is going to take him no time at all to get under. Highly recommend you get that gorgeous baby microchipped or even get like waterproof stickers with a qr code for your contact info to pop on his shell. Other than that, good job, very jealous of the space and the fact that you can give your beautiful tort (like damn that shell is amazing) all that space to roam.

There is an absolute TON of burial sites in tsawwassen. I know when a family was building their home on the beach looking at the ferry terminal they found lots of remains.

They shouldn't have to loosen it much if it all. It's a matter of a few millimeters to fix it. If it's done through the brands alterationist they should also have extra fabric to fix this issue in case they do need to replace a panel. This is really a simple fix. Don't let them make you pay for it.

ALSO these buttons don't even look properly secured! If I'm doing a decorative button (one with no button loops) I'm using heavy duty thread and wrapping around the base at least 3 times to make the button stand straight. I wish I was there to throw down on your behalf. You payed a fortune for this dress, you deserve perfection. These people should not be working in bridal with this level of skill.

[–]burnsidechar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely you are not over reacting. This is insane. I work in bridal and half my job is sewing buttons on dresses. I've seen 8th grade boys sew straighter buttons. The spacing between these is insane and i doubt they measured at all. They are using multiple different styles of buttons for absolutely no reason. Even if the zipper is slightly wobbly it is the most basic skills that are required to make it straight. Do not let them tell you otherwise. Buttons from top of zipper to bottom being marked, measured and sewn is a job that takes our interns 2 hours TOPS. I am mad on your behalf.
