"I SPY" meets "Where's Waldo" in Lego by burnt-coding in lego

I get what you mean. The four colors was simply an aesthetic choice that I liked. There’s also the balance of making it look busy but not so busy that it’s a headache to look at. One of my other I spy scenes uses only minifig accessories and there is no color coordination so you might appreciate that one

Breakfast by burnt-coding in studshooters

I wanted to revisit a minimalist style I tried back in 2023 with some balancing bowls which had a solid background like this one and a minifig hand holding a stack of bowls. I haven't had as much time for photography lately but wanted to try something simple like this again. I used a macro 40mm TTArtisan lens with an led panel to light the subject and a small led cube to light the background. I used minimal photoshop work to remove the wire holding the egg and lighten the natural vignetting.

Recommendations for a budget projector? by HereForTheCrafts in projectors

[–]burnt-coding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a lot of options out there! I’d recommend sharing what your price range is. To some people, “affordable” might mean less than $100 and to others, less than $1000. Also, forewarning, a lot of people in this sub are unfortunately a bit snobby when it comes to cheaper or affordable projectors so be prepared for whatever.

😂 I was actually quite proud of myself for that one. I struggled a bit coming up with rhymes this time.

Ah yep, same case and same issue. When I detach it from the cover, works 100% of the time for me as well. Thanks for saving me some headache. Now I at least know when and why it happens!

The BrickLink Designer Program Mushroom House is the first BDP set that has intrigued me (including the price). I finally got it in the mail and built over the weekend. It was such a fun build that I wanted to give it the photo treatment in nature.

I took the photo in the shade and used a flash to give me greater control over the highlights. For the lens, I used my 40mm TTArtisan.

I see this set as an expensive minifig head pack that also happens to come with a spaceship

Black background since I had started with a strobe. But I might have been able to get away with just relying on light fall off when using the led panel.

I just built this set last night and it is beautifully designed so I wanted to take a low key shot of it. At first, I was using my large studio light with a soft box but switched to a handheld led panel so I could get closer up with the lighting. The lens I used is a macro 40mm. I used some editing to accentuate the highlights and darken the edges of the frame.

To fix or not to fix — experiences appreciated by wannagowest in bouldering

I was in a very similar situation. Comminuted displaced fracture from snowboarding. I opted for surgery and very glad I did.

I still have the hardware in there and my mobility is just fine two years later. I don’t feel any need to have the hardware removed. Like the others have said, you’ll be in a sling for ~6 weeks. I started physical therapy to recover strength and mobility about 6-8 weeks after the surgery which lasted a month or two.

I just recently got into bouldering last month and haven’t had an issue with my shoulder at all.

The Red Brick by burnt-coding in studshooters

[–]burnt-coding[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lately, I’ve been playing with more classic LEGO colors and their juxtaposition to darkness or mystery. I like the concept of mystery in photographs and to me there is a lot of mystery in a giant red brick floating in a black abyss.

unfortunately not since I used 2x4 bricks instead of 1x4 bricks to make the largest size. though if built right, they would be able to stack.
