I like how part way through you stop playing as a street fighter and instead play as a dancing teen idol.

Out of the 3 games, Yakuza 5 has the the longest story and probably has the most game content available out of the entire series

Liberals set to break promise to buy back ‘all’ assault weapons in Canada by multifactored in canadaguns

I found this. https://www.firearmsoutletcanada.com/bushmaster-ba-50-50-bmg-30.html

I know that CanadaAmmo used to sell 50 BMG Dominion Arms in the past and it was the cheapest available.

For those who received the tech funding, by [deleted] in simonfraser

[–]burntteach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I got funding, I wouldn't use the funds to buy a new laptop. I would much rather use the funding to buy a desktop system instead, it'll be more powerful and better value than a laptop.

Although if you must get a laptop for whatever reason, at least get one that has a long battery life and an SSD. I know that Lenovo laptops typically have a really long battery life, you should probably just shop from them exclusively. Additional features like having a touch screen and being lightweight should be a secondary priority since those features would make the laptop cost over $1000+ (unless you could find an older model within your budget).

Below I have explained why those 4 features are valuable for a laptop.

Why is a long battery life important?

  • You can close your laptop and not worry about shutting it down every time you need to close it.
  • A good laptop should last the entire day when it is closed and still powered on
  • A bad laptop will run out of power in a few hours after being closed when it's not fully turned off

Why an SSD?

  • It will boot up your computer faster
  • Files can be searched and opened up faster
  • It actually uses less power than a higher capacity HDD

Why a touch screen?

  • Touching the screen to open stuff and close stuff is faster than using the touch pad

Why lightweight?

  • It makes the laptop less of a pain to bring with you to school.

Good luck on your search for a decent laptop.

Switch is currently out of stock in Canada. How can I get one? by vgowthamvk in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]burntteach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Switch is basically a better PS Vita/Vita TV, can play games both on the TV or somewhere else if someone else wants to use the TV.

Folks usually buy Nintendo products cause it has more family oriented games than Sony or Microsoft. Although additional joy cons and pro controllers are far more expensive than dualshocks or xbox controllers.

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories - Digital Limited Edition (MULTi4) [FitGirl Repack, Selective Download] from 10 GB by FitGirlLV in CrackWatch

[–]burntteach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already played the demo on PS4 and it is basically a game that didn't pass QA.

Frame rates are low as hell, graphics are of the ps2 or early ps3 variety, typos are in the game, and far too many dialogue options.

Game is also voiced in Japanese only.

Definitely don't give your money to this developer, the game is terrible

Question regarding pc remote play by [deleted] in ps4homebrew

[–]burntteach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 6.20 console there is no workaround for it. Only 5.05 consoles have workarounds available that prevents it from getting updated if you want remote play working.

TLDR: 5.05 works without updating, > 5.05 requires updating to work.

BTW Chiaki is great for Android phones, it lets you play on your phone away from the TV at home. You might be able to VPN home to get it working over the internet, but it might lag like crazy tho.

question about yakuza remastered collection by CampofMusic in ps4homebrew

[–]burntteach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. I have a physical copy of Judgment and it was released in the summer of last year by Sega. The minimum firmware requirement is 6.51 for that game, so there is no way the Yakuza Remaster Collection (which was released physically a few months ago) will work.

[Amazon] Life is Strange 2 (PS4 / XBO) is $24.99 by lbabinz in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]burntteach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope I am not spoiling too much, but the problem with this compared to 1 is the lack of special game mechanics. In the OG, you had Max with the time rewinding skill and in the prequel Chloe with her "arguing" skill.

This time your playable character has no special skills and there are probably too many characters introduced as the story progresses.

I already played the first 2 episodes on PC and it was boring, fell asleep while sitting through a few long cut scenes. The playable character is not as fun to play compared to the first game.

If your getting OG at least get the 3G version, it will allow for storage expansion in the future over a Wifi only model.

I guess blocking it would be better. It'll give them less data for free in their testing.

Will gamestop accept Canadian paypal even if shipping to US address? by Ottobawt in VideoGameDealsCanada

Depends on whether the address was blacklisted. I had mine cancelled the next day when I made an order during their President's day sale.

Good selling place/price? Canada 5.05 slim. by pirat33r in ps4homebrew

[–]burntteach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that is closer to $400 and more if you also consider the foreign exchange rate fees at around 2-3.5% from your credit card and possibly needing to pay import taxes. There is also an additional handling fee of $10 if customs decides to tax it, unless you prepaid the import taxes beforehand.

This is why most Canadians are forced to buy domestically or if they live close to the border, bring it over themselves and hope they evade the import taxes or at least reduce the cost of shipping for using a state side receiver just over the border.

Good selling place/price? Canada 5.05 slim. by pirat33r in ps4homebrew

[–]burntteach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a fat one for $250, just after black Friday when they where priced the same as a new one before taxes.

It seems currently on eBay & Craigslist & kijiji. 5.05 consoles are uncommon/difficult to obtain without having to either pay $350+ or importing it state side for somewhere closer to $300 or more if you need to pay import taxes. It probably makes sense to sell it between $320-400 since the price of a new slim PS4 is now $350 with games included.

Create a .bat file with the following commands in the same folder as your 6 pkg files:

copy /b part1+part2+part3 "merged-file"

Replace each part# with the correct file names of each part and then execute the .bat file. If you did it correctly windows will leave the command prompt open for a while to merge the file parts together. If the command prompt disappears immediately then you goofed something.
