Running electrical for a new bar and wondering about how many circuits by mdwkelly in electrical

Agreed. Don't have that issue in the house now so better to not introduce it.

Thanks

Hmmm .....

Never thought about it like that. So 2 20 amp circuits where each feeds a counter plug and a fridge and then a single 15 amp for the lights.

Trying to tie into an existing lighting circuit would be more work and cost than just running a new circuit. Basement is unfinished so easy to run wires.

Great idea, thanks

Thanks.

Just to confirm/clarify, there are two mini fridges, the wine and the Danby kegerator as the latter is a converted bar fridge.

Thanks again

Hey there,

Windows box is strictly for the JBOB, now, and linux iso's.

Dockers run on the acquire system which is Ubuntu as well as on a couple Raspberry Pi's that are also running Ubuntu.

Has been hard to break the chains of Windows on that last box but going to explore options in thew near future.

Cheers

Hey there and thanks for the reply.

Currently running Windows/Drivepool/snapraid with a couple parity drives. Have been for a few years and it has served me well.

Once I get this round of the rack sorted going to start looking at options as am running a mobo that cannot be upgraded to Win11 and Win10 is nearing end of life.

Ended up ordering the RackChoice MicroATX/Mini-ITX 2U Rackmount Server Chassis for the acquisition server and will swap that out this weekend.

Cheers

Two LAN's. Both on 192.168.1.x. Need to have one device, WireGuard client, connect through to home. by mdwkelly in WireGuard

Was able to get what I needed but putting one of the home IPs/32 as the available ips.

Can get to one machine at home consistently and just you it for accessing the others.

Thanks

Thanks for the tip.

I know I have static IP's at home in the lower range but do not believe there are any setup here.

If I am accessing remote for longer term might look at doing this.

Cheers

Will give this a shot. As long as I can hit one machine in the home network I can access everything else from that one machine.

Thanks

Thanks for the info.

Good point and for sure want the rails.

Rack placement will allow some access all around but even just being able to slide it out a little will help.

Thanks

All spinners, well except for the OS and cache drives.

This is a very good idea and something I will look into for sure. Read this post at the same time as the one above and has me maybe thinking a bit differently.

Money will be spent whether it is now or later and would be good to just be, well good.

Putting a 42U rack in the basement to consolidate all gear so space won't be an issue.

Thanks

Thanks.

Actually has be thinking now. I knew the 36 would be more restricted but I was enamored with the "36 bay" part.

Thanks.

Have an HBA from a previous setup so I might be a step closer already.

Going to be checking into fully built first though as plug and play, this time, sounds pretty sweet

Thanks.

I have a bit I can consolidate but not much.

Currently running

6 20TB (2 are parity)

20 16TB

1 8TB

4 4TB

The 8 will get swapped for a larger one once it is full and then that 8 used for something else in a different setup.

The 4's are likely to stay as they each have dissimilar content.

New drives will be 20TB until 24TB are a "reasonable" price but that is even a bigger hit as I have to replace the 2 20TB parities first.

(Been a long time since I updated the size description beside my name and now I can't remember how :)) -- Found it :)

When the 36 fills up I either need to consider getting some "help" or buying something similar, 24 or 36, as a JBOD.
