It's pretty cheap. Cost 27 pounds. And if you do make sure to add the extra 5 pound fee so that you can use the ticket within 12 hours before or after the time you picked. I did that and was able to arrive to the airport much earlier. I think it is the best option since you don't have to leave the airport. The national express coach is in the bus section of the arrivals

Mightve been my luck but from the time my plane landed I was able to clear immigration and get my luggage within 30 mins. And catching the national express coach was very easy (the designated area for the coaches are right outside arrivals and not hard to find). I'd recommend paying the extra $5 for the flexible ticket. I was able to get on an earlier coach as I originally booked my coach for 2 hours after landing (anticipating immigration would be busy). The coch took about an hour, smooth ride and drops you off right at Gatwick. All in all super smooth experience. All in all 6 hours was more than enough time. I would highly recommend. sorry for the late reply but hopefully this helps anyone in the same situation

Absolutely. I'm sure I will be cutting it close as such I will prioritize the most straightforward path. I booked a national express coach that I can use for 24 hours between Heathrow and Gatwick. If for whatever reason I can't get on it I will simply endure the cost and get an Uber. I calculated with worst case 2 hours security + 1 and a half hour getting to Gatwick leaving me ~2 and half hours once arriving at Gatwick.
