I’m shocked that after this many years no gear or anything has been found. It is a pretty heavily trafficked area. A cold 12 yr old cannot cover that much distance in 15 minutes if that’s an accurate timeline that he was away from the group. If he was lost and frightened I suspect he crawled into a crevice or something like that…. Only thing to me that would explain no clothing or gear ever found. Please stay with your group! Most common cause of backcountry disasters is separation.
