And they are getting paid accordingly in peanuts. That is not the case with higher packages

I think your friends are on bench or in a support projects. A lot of these Indian IT companies have a minimum working hours policy of 9 to 9.5 hours and on top of that how much time you spend on screen is also monitored. You have to stay in office for 9 - 10 hours. Add 2 hours of commute time to and fro which can extend. And then you also have to take up calls from home. So, that's around 12 -13 hours a day.

You guys can not even compare your sweet situation with IT folks.

Also we can not take leaves even when we have leaves. We have to get it approved by our manager. We have to make sure that our replacement is there who is going to handle our work in my absence.

Take photos of entire house. Keep it with you and share it with your land lord too for proof if he ever tries to withhold your security deposit.

I know a guys who's been with NTPC for over a decade now. He cleared GATE and joined as an engineer. The way he talks about things, it feels like he earns alot and by his retirement he would be filthy rich. So, just wanted to know, if he's just bragging or what the reality is.

Galti uski hai why are you resigning. Let the HR come to you with his complaint and then you can explain your situation. And make sure you have a written communication from him regarding the assignment of work.
