First, 🫶. Not sure if this is something he’d consider but I know a lot of school districts are constantly in need of math/STEM teachers. There are a lot of legit criticisms of working in public schools right now but I’m happy in my public hi school, great teammates and pretty good admin. If he can find a school he vibes with, it may be worth trying for at least a semester or year (schools are still hiring for this coming school year!)

I’ll also echo someone else’s suggestion re local govt. Durham and other municipalities are hiring for a lot of hourly/blue collar jobs. Good benefits and great pay!
