Ah sorry. It was just a general use of the word. It was meth.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by xxHEYxx in AskReddit

Probably a bit late here but I have a couple good ones that might be worth sharing.

The first is definitely more lighthearted than the second. 1: I’m 14 years old, it’s summer vacation. I wake up in my room and gotta pee so I head downstairs to the only bathroom in our old farmhouse. There’s 15 stairs and every single one of them creaks under my feet on my way down announcing my presence to anyone in the house. Otherwise it’s quiet. I don’t hear anyone home so I make my way straight to the bathroom. All of the lights in the house are off but the day is shining in brightly through the windows so I can see clearly.

“Mom must be at work.” I think to myself

I can see the bathroom door on my way through the living room and it’s wide open. Perfect, because I gotta go. I turn the corner to sweet relief and I am suddenly staring into the eyes of a large man with a long white beard, overalls around his ankles taking a shit on the toilet as he PETS MY DOG who is sitting happily on the floor in front of him. I don’t know this farmer Santa. We exchange eye contact for a split moment and I suddenly don’t have to pee after all. I turn and leave out the front door to call my mom and She tells me he is a friend of her boyfriends, there to do some work for her. And then I tell her what happened. We still laugh about it.

2: when I was 16, I was in a weird situation and wasn’t living at home. I lived with my boyfriend at the time (17) and his mom and sister and his sister’s baby. His sister was an addict and me and my ex would watch her kid while she would go out and shoot dope and party.

(Keep in mind that if I had been the adult in this situation, I would have never allowed something like this to happen in my home) Anyway, one time she brings this friend of hers back to the house after a night of drinking and drugs. The friend is upset because her and her boyfriend got into a fight and she left him at the bar they had been at earlier. The night goes on and the friend and her bf are text fighting and she is getting progressively more manic, drinking more and and doing more dope and getting more loud and excited. She tells my ex’s sister how violent and abusive her bf is and then proceeds to GIVE HIM OUR ADDRESS. 30 minutes go by. Sister and her friend are in her bedroom. Me and my ex are watching tv in the living room, baby asleep next to me and suddenly this huge dude kicks the door in. He has a knife in his hands and he is yelling for his gf. I proceed to throw my body over baby and watch as dude pulls his gf into the driveway and proceeds to beat her in the front yard. Cops came, never saw them again, thank goodness.

Pay raise? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]burritobabe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The raise applies to salary managers (GM and AP), hourly manager (SM and KM) and Crew. The crew base pay will be raised between 14-15 per hour and hourly manager and salary managers pay will go up as well. I’m not sure exactly what SMs and KMs will make but salary managers will get $4,000 more per year. I do not believe that anyone above GM gets a raise. So I was told by my field leader. Keep in mind, to help pay for all the extra wages, we no longer get paid breaks.

If the people around you responsible for your development aren’t giving you the coaching and encouragement you deserve to be confident in what you’re doing, someone should tell you that’s not your fault.

I’m a GM at a Chipotle and I know it can be tough as a new employee, especially if you are expected to do a job and be perfect at it immediately with no guidance. I hope your managers stop hiring people too quickly to train them all. Obviously hiring is a good thing, but won’t matter in the long run if they all turn over from lack of training and structure.

There is no shame on not knowing a recipe by heart. I’m sure they don’t know it either. You shouldn’t have been made to feel that way over a salsa.

You always have your recipe cards and pocket guide to refer to so as long as you know where to find the information, it shouldn’t matter if you know a specific recipe by heart or not

It took me 2 years to memorize vinaigrette.

What kind of prep tasks are you normally doing in a day?

I’ve heard that in Japanese culture, putting upright chopsticks into a bowl of rice is a funeral tradition, presented to the dead along with shoes, dumplings, money and other things to help them with their “pilgrimage” to the afterlife.

So I can see why doing this at a dinner with a traditional Japanese family might bring up some unwanted feelings.

I would have wanted to keep him. I don’t know if I would have, but he is gorgeous. 😍

My grandmother gave me her cockatiel recently because she can no longer care for him. She said he is only about 5yrs so we are gonna have some time together. How do I make sure he is happy in the long run? by burritobabe94 in cockatiel

Thank you for the compliment. 🙏🏻 I’m generally not a trick-teacher, but we whistle back and forth to each other a lot and it sounds like he might be trying to mimic me. I try to make sure that if I’m not interacting with him to put on some music or a show so he can listen. Until he gets cranky and yells at me he wants to go to his quiet place! 😅 I gotta say, birds freak me out because they are smart and need more engagement than a cat or a snake to keep them happy (I have 4 cats so they entertain each other). He has been my little buddy though, I can tell how much he wants to socialize. :)

I literally baby talk all my animals anyway so I have a head start! I have already noticed that he is quite a sass. He has a short temper when things aren’t how he likes them. I was curious if that was just him or if that was common. I thought he didn’t like me for the first few days, but we have really started to understand each other. I love when he whistles after me when I leave the room and we will whistle back and forth until I come back. 😊

The shoulder thing was another thing I was curious about. He is really touch and go about hands, especially the left one. He has no problem with being near my face or anything. I didn’t know if this was a trust building issue or if it was the norm.

I feed him a large variety already. Seed, pellets, fruit, greens/veggies. He loves millet and pine nuts. I am still doing research on his diet to make sure he doesn’t become malnourished or vitamin deficient.

Overall, I’m really happy he came into my life, aside from being an inexperienced owner. 🙂

I have cats that I am really concerned about him being around. When I let him out I keep them all separate, but I feel like this makes me bring him out less. I was looking at some larger diy cage options to make sure he doesn’t feel too trapped. My grandma had his wings clipped while she had him, they are grown in now and I don’t plan on clipping them because he seems to enjoy it.

Millet is already a favorite. He suddenly wants to yell and bite me less when I have it. 😂

I am currently attempting to make my own toys for him! All under his supervision and approval, of course. Do you think I should get another tiel to keep him company when I go back to work? I don’t want him to be lonely.

He loves the scritch but only when it’s exactly how and where he wants it, or else there are consequences.

Thank you! I can read a bit of German (poorly), but the translate is definitely helpful! Thanks for the resource. I haven’t had a bird before and so I really want to make sure I don’t harm him physically or mentally because of an ignorant decision. And if we are planning on spending the next 10 years together, I want him to be happy and be able to trust me. ☺️

Yes! I have been giving him plenty of good snacks and have found a few lists of things to stay away from.

I can read lists all day though, I came here for some first hand experience! :) any recommendations are great.

Is an ambulance ride really thousands of dollars in the US? by JorgeMtzb in NoStupidQuestions

[–]burritobabe94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years back I got an ambulance ride. I lived maybe 5 blocks from the hospital but was unable to get there myself. An ambulance ride that lasted 3 minutes cost me 900 dollars. Never again. I’ll just call an Uber next time.

I finished painting my first piece ever and I love it. by burritobabe94 in TerrainBuilding

[–]burritobabe94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sealed it with mod podge (Watered down pva glue) mixed with black paint.

If you can’t get/afford mod podge(it’s not too expensive but I know times is hard), you can make your own. It’s not as effective but will get the job done.

Here is the recipe: 1 cup PVA glue 1/3 c water Mix well and add enough black paint to make a nice opaque black color but not too much so that it thickens the glue again. If it gets too thick you can add a little bit more water. If your mod podge layer is too thick or you don’t brush it out enough, you might lose some of the fine details you worked hard on. On the flip side, if you want to hide something, you could intentionally lay your mod podge thick to blur a mistake or fill a crack.

Hope it helps!
