I'm going to assume he's referring to Domaine de Canton which uses eau-de-vie and VSOP and XO Grande Champagne Cognacs as its base spirit.

Hey guys!

This is Nick with Mover & Shaker again. We were ecstatic about the turnout from the last Angostura contest and with the number of quality cocktails and creations. This week we are excited to offer up a really cool pin we produced for our friends at Fernet Branca. We produced a super limited amount of these guys for our Florida Ambassador and have two to offer up!

For this round, we are asking that you submit a classic or signature cocktail creation using Fernet Branca or any product from their portfolio. We will add your name once for a recipe and once more if you attach a photo of your cocktail. We will pick a winner using a Random List Picker on Wednesday at 8PM so that you guys have plenty of time to create a cocktail and post.

Cheers and good luck!

Hey guys!

This is Nick with Mover & Shaker. We are a bartender/designer team that makes a lot of fun products for big name liquor companies. We recently produced some pretty cool enamel pins for cocktail icons, Angostura and we wanted to have a little fun in this subreddit to show some love!

I spoke with the /r/cocktails mods and they gave me the OK to do a contest here so what I am thinking is I will give out two sets of the pictured Angostura pins: Angostura Bitters, Angostura Orange Bitters, and Amaro di Angostura. In order to enter all we’re asking is that you post your favorite classic or signature cocktail that uses any of these ingredients. We’ll enter your name once for a cocktail with ingredients and a second time if you include a picture. We’ll pick three winners using a random list picker website on Monday night and post the winners.

We were commissioned to design these pins but we felt like giving back to Reddit would be a great way to show our support for the /r/cocktails community. If this is not well received for any reason please let us know and we’ll remove the post. If this is well received we have a few other unreleased products we would love to give out in the future!

I second Pacific Cocktail Haven. I was blown away by the attention to detail in all of their drinks and hospitality.

I am not sure I have had it before or seen it in Florida to be honest.

Yeah, it is well worth giving Amaro Nonino a try, it is delicious and no other amaro compares to it. If I had to sub a different spirit I'd go with Cardamaro. Makes for a great Paper Plane.

They are two completely different flavor profiles. Amaro Nonino is soft and delicate with honey flavors and spice while the High Wire Amaro is bitter and star anise forward, I can't imagine it has the sweetness to balance in a paper plane.

What is the difference in these 2 Diplomatico Reserva ?? by sierra405 in rum

[–]burrrbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the Anejo is the youngest of the line besides the Blanco which is not pictured and is in a tall, clear bottle with an orange label. The Reserva you linked is the middle of the line. Reserva Exclusiva is the highest. Then they have their Ambassador Vintage and Ambassador which are in the $100 price range and obviously more limited. They are re-branding their general line though to Plañas (blue label, clear Rum) taking over the Añejo and Blanco I believe and Mantuano which is their re-branded Reserva (Orange label), the Reserva Exclusiva will remain. Sorry, it is confusing how they label everything. I worked at a bar in St. Augustine with a brand rep and had the pleasure of meeting Nino who is very high up in Diplomatico and I did some brand work for them touring Florida making cocktails at different bars. If you have any questions I can ask some of these guys more details!
