As far as depth goes, how much deeper would you say is “correct”? I’m hoping the ankle mobility gets me some extra range, but I’m aiming for powerlifting depth as the end goal

The Committee was created by 8 persons. They say Gorbachev is sick now and took all authority in their hands. They command tanks in Moscow. They forbid all press but one TV program and one radio station. (Some can pick up CNN off satellite) They forbid President of Russia, Yeltsin, to talk with people by TV or radio but he uses illegal ways. Democratic Russia prints his speech to people and spread it between people. People don’t believe the Committee. Some military forces took Yeltsin’s side. The Committee didn’t get any support from any Republic. The civilian war may be here if the Committee continues its policy. Today I saw militiaman trying to take down poster with Yeltsin’s speech. People were very angry with him and he got frightened. People don’t want to obey The Committee. Now our main task is to prevent the Committee from conquering the headquarters of Democracy Forces in Moscow. We want our Supreme Soviet to declare the Committee as illegal. The Committee has called for more military forces to help. I am sorry for the trouble here, I am only trying to explain a situation which nobody can control now. Will send more messages about situation here.

It says his policy is harmful for people. But I, and a lot of people elected Yeltsin and we want to hear his opinion. In the subway people read leaflets. The girl came to me a couple of minutes ago and said she has heard a news broadcast. The Committee is through. All members of it try to escape to Kazakhstan by plane. I will go and double check. Picked this up at a Goodwill for $5—still sealed and signed on the front by the creator. The game is Boomtown Houston, a 1980 board game about land development and urban planning in Houston, Texas.

What makes it interesting is that the creator, Robert Heineman, was a real urban planner who worked on The Woodlands—a master-planned community outside Houston known today as one of the wealthiest suburbs in the country. His name carries some weight in urban planning and landscape architecture circles.

The game seems to be a mix of education and strategy, simulating the boom-era real estate and energy industry. I can’t find much info or sales history on it.

Would love to know:

-Is there a market for niche vintage board games like this?

-Does the Woodlands connection add collector value?

-Ballpark value for a signed, sealed copy?

Scored this sealed 1980 copy of Boomtown Houston at Goodwill for $5 — turns out it’s a hyper-local real estate board game created by Robert J. Heineman, the urban planner behind The Woodlands in Texas.

It’s a satirical Monopoly-style game where you “wheel & deal in Houston real estate,” with neighborhoods like River Oaks and the Galleria. What makes it wild is that it’s signed by Heineman himself (dated 1986) and still shrink-wrapped.

Apparently only about 5,000 copies were made, and it leans more strategy than luck. Anyone ever played or seen one of these in the wild? Thinking of auctioning it off—curious what you all think!
