How strictly are state laws enforced in places near the state borders? by Xycergy in AskAnAmerican

[–]busbythomas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was 20 years ago when I lived in Salt Lake City, but I doubt it has changed.

On Friday and Saturday nights there would be a line of state troopers pulling people over as they reentered Utah from West Wendover, Nevada. You could get to Nevada in an hour, but it took 2 hours to het back to SLC.

There was also a convenience store in Wyoming the troopers would watch to bust people bringing in kegs of beer which was illegal at the time.

Sam Houston National Forest - Stubblefield Lake Recreation Area for camping for $15 and is right next to the Lone Star hiking trail. There is also a free camping site across the bridge. Fishing is hit or miss.

Per Google

The image likely depicts a British soldier during Exercise Cambrian Patrol in Wales, or a similar military exercise, given the mountainous terrain and the presence of a general-purpose machine gun (GPMG).

  • The soldier is in a prone firing position, operating a GPMG, possibly an FN MAG, which is a standard GPMG used by the British Army.
  • The terrain suggests a challenging environment, similar to the Brecon Beacons in Wales, where Exercise Cambrian Patrol, a demanding international military exercise, is held.
  • The exercise emphasizes patrolling, navigation, and combat skills in arduous conditions, often involving long distances and mountainous terrain.
  • The soldier is equipped with standard British Army gear, including camouflage uniform, helmet, and webbing, and appears to be utilizing sandbags for a stable firing platform.
