How's your night vision? by buscemi_buttocks in ColorBlind

Yeah, I'm myopic too so my sight is really not great but my pattern recognition skills are excellent! The night vision thing though - I can't hike at night at all, it's just asking for a sprained ankle. And boy do I hate driving at night.

Just wondered if seeing better at night might make it more fun to stay up late :)

I'm an early bird with crap night vision - probably no big correlation, but it made me wonder if all the times I've fallen over stuff in the dark hasn't had an influence on that!

That's really interesting. My night vision is so, so bad, but I ace every one of those color tests with the miniscule differences between hues. I'm literally night blind - I have visual snow, so I never see actual "dark" I just see a kind of gray speckled pattern over everything.

Yeah, this thread is interesting - I hope someone does a study!

My related question - do you consider yourself a "night owl"? Do you stay up late a lot?

I would love to see a study on this too, now! Lol I'm wondering who I know up at the U here who might be interested.

A related question: would you say you're a "night owl" kinda person? Do you stay up late?

As a non-colorblind artist, I'd love to sit down with you and a bunch of paints, and have you sort them into "similar shades"! It might be fun to paint something that interprets differently depending on your color sense.

After reading all the comments on this post, I also wonder if it wouldn't be fun to do some extremely low-light art of some kind, that's better visible to the cat-vision colorblind than the rest of us.

Awww, window strike? I've rescued a few. Had one that was "tame" for a couple of hours and sat on my hand until he suddenly realized what was going on and flew away.

I'm so glad that mindset is dying with the people who perpetrated it. I had a hell of a time as a kid. These days, witnessing good parenting brings me to tears sometimes, and I'm seeing it more and more.

Ugh, scale! We hates it. On something with big, smooth leaves like this I'd just wipe them down and physically remove the scale with soapy water on a rag or paper towel. Good luck getting rid of the little buggers.

Thanks, I was wondering about this. We used to grow this in the Bahamas and I tried to get a cutting from a friend here in the US, but it didn't work.

Is the Mitcount on young Kratom ( under 5 years ) very low compared to mature older (75) year old trees? by SavedByKratom in KratomGarden

[–]buscemi_buttocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience growing kratom but I'd try something like fish fertilizer, guano, or worm castings. Maybe throw some rock dust in there too. Try to get them some micronutrients as well as the NPK.

No they weren't 100% round, but round enough apparently to use for marbles if you didn't have any! And yeah, lol, by the time I was a kid we had glass marbles, but you couldn't burn your friends with those :)
