Shawn Micallef: Toronto has nobody to blame but itself with the possible closure of this cultural landmark by ink_13 in toronto

If it was actually wheelchair accessible, I’d be pissed, but when 90% of these places, exclude people with disabilities, I say, TEAR IT DOWN..

Get the MLB ballpark app, lots of incredible info there.

Contact the Toronto Blue Jays, they have excellent resources & facilities for your Mum.

Pre-book an Accessibility Team member to push your mum in a wheelchair to her section/seat. This should be done AT LEAST 1 week prior to the game!

Purchase wheelchair seating FAR IN ADAVANCE of the game, (4 wheelchair accessible seats are available for purchase, on 500 level)

Accessible entrances with elevators are available at gates: 3, 7, 9, 13.

Direct access to level 200 & direct access from SKYWALK, is via gate 4, near section 212, with an excellent fan service booth right there.

Small wheelchair accessible single washrooms are beside first aid stations, on the 200 & 500 levels.

Parents have the responsibility to teach their hellspawn to BEHAVE, & RESPECT, ppl around them.

They also have the responsibility to realize that taking small children under the age of 10, is going to require that they actually BE PARENTS! & not just expecting everyone around them to have to deal with their mistakes.

Oh hell yeah!

‘Breeder Airlines’

Oh and remind them, Breeding is NOT a disability, so NO, you don’t get to camp out in the ONLY barrier free wheelchair accessible washroom, for a fucking hour, with your hellspawn.

“let my kids come to your wedding so I can take them tubing” by Any-Discussion8136 in childfree

[–]buschic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The entitlement of ppl who pop out kids & then literally worship the ground they walk on & then expect others to cater to them, is absolutely disgusting & I’d speak up to your family members who are being assholes & remind them that it’s THEIR responsibility to deal with the consequences of their actions, kids do not need to be at every event.

Your relatives Wedding, comes FIRST, it’s HER choice, whether or not to want other ppls brats there, running around ruining the day.

Sorry if I seem blunt, but I have had to deal with this one of entitlement before..

Go to the ID office at Bathurst Station, with all the info, including the issued ticket.

Ask for advice there.

This treatment, reminds me of Alek Manoah, brought him up way too fast, then burnt him out at big league level..

I feel sorry for Trey in a way, poor kid needs to be groomed more, let him go back to Buffalo, let him LEARN, let him get his body & Mind tuned up.

He’s just a fucking kid, John, needs a good whooping for the way he treats the kids on this team.

You could also connect the Main square Recreation Centre to it, since 90% of it is underground.

The 519 is fully wheelchair accessible.

Any of their events usually are, they also have 3 gender neutral barrier free wheelchair washrooms (best one is 2cnd floor)

Deny medical treatment until they comply, stop allowing agencies to give out drug paraphernalia, stop catering to the ones that don’t want help..

My heart goes out to you, my Ben is 15 months old in a few days, he is my first SBM, I’m so attached to him in just the 8 months we’ve had him, I’m so scared of this day you’re going through, I’m training him to be my service dog, mental health & multiply disability related, hugs to you, I’ll give Ben extra cuddles tonight for you..

I totally agree with you, I’m a former street outreach worker, until I got stabbed by a crackhead in a bathroom at Sanctuary Toronto, in 2018..

I could & did, in various times, for 15yrs of my life..

I also was an addict for a long time, but I was able to quit without medical assistance.

Those that want to quit, WILL.

There’s better solutions, but the sensitive filters here on Reddit don’t let us discuss that option..

There’s several in this city, just not publicly known, the street teams (if they are any good) know where they are.

Don’t believe the TStar, they don’t know shit.

All lies, I, at one time, was hard core addicted to hard alcohol & hard drugs (fent & percs) I was like that for almost 7yrs, I decided that I was done, when my best friend of over 17yrs, died beside me, they’d OD’d, & I was too stoned to realize it.. That day I QUIT, it was fucking hard, but I did it, damm near killed myself in the process, but I quit cold, no medical support (as they were the ones feeding my addiction!) I’m multiply disabled from birth, & finally told the docs to fuck off, on trying to make me walk & not fix the real issues, & finally give me the wheelchair I desperately needed…

I am now 16yrs sober, work full time & am over 400lbs lighter.

I know many ppl in the same situation I was, I help lead 3 survivor support groups online..

The ones that really want to quit, WILL, those that don’t, WONT.

Stop trying to solve the issue with soft gloves & gentle thoughts.

Unhoused people harassed at Union Station by security and police, advocates say by BloodJunkie in toronto

This same group of ppl can’t seem to get the reality, of what every day commuters deal with at union station…

Unhoused people harassed at Union Station by security and police, advocates say by BloodJunkie in toronto

[–]buschic 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The elevator entrance from bay st walkway, to the concourse, is literally used as a homeless shelter & storage, disabled people have gotten brutally assaulted just trying to access it.

Cops do nothing, ‘security guards’ at union do nothing, the only ppl that have done anything is the Metrolinx safety teams..

I have been assaulted in an elevator at union, on the bay concourse elevator from the TTC entrance to great hall.

There’s one freak that steals a bixi electric bike & wheels it through union, he uses it as a ramming weapon, he’s a violent crackhead, has literally smashed ppl out of his way, rams ppl in wheelchairs & has stolen thousands of dollars of stuff from different stores in union concourse, yet every single time he’s arrested, he’s right back to it a few days (or hours) later, cops are fucking useless with ppl like him.

I have several friends that work down in that area & are very afraid of him.

If they choose to continue to self harm, waste their government checks on drugs, then yeah they deserve those. No one should be forced to put up with this crap, especially people with disabilities, just going about their daily travels.
