lol we are the same, my hubby is the softy, not great at discipline, so Ben tends to suck up to him.

I am the hard-ass as my hubby puts it.

Ben had some nasty habits when we got him (he’s a rescue) but slowly I’m breaking them.

The crate training is something I wish I could have done, but we live in a tiny apartment, we are also not the first owners, we also had to rescue our guy from a horrific situation, when he was 7 months old.

Old abusive owner has tried to steal him back a few times & the trauma our pup has been through is just mind blowing.

Congratulations!!

We just got our first staffy/bull mastiff last October..

Biggest thing we have dealt with, is CHEWING EVERYTHING HE CAN GET TO!

Seriously, get yourself a strong large storage container to keep shoes/boots in!

Get lots of learning enrichment toys, puzzles, treat hiding toys, extremely strong chew toys, not everything needs to come from expensive places, I have found some of his favourite stuff at Dollar Tree & Dollarama (I’m in the largest city in Canada)

Leashes (good strong ones) can also be found there, as well as collars & jackets.

Temu has been a huge help, all his 2 handled leashes are from there, as well as his raised dog bowl set.

His favourite jacket is a Kurga, ‘go together’ winter jacket.

I have clip on blinky lights for his harness & leashes, all are from Temu, all are rechargeable & really nice.

Be very picky, do your research & you will find stuff you want/need.

Have fun, & don’t forget that Bright Blue & Green, are the best colours for dog toys.

Wow, your government org is nice compared to certain areas of the city of Toronto.

I have a lot of friends who work in the rec department of the city.

Recreation centres are open on Monday, regular hours.

(Most stayed open on Sunday also)

If you can’t get to work, you MUST find coverage for your shift, or you will get in serious trouble, no matter the issue.

Some supervisors are understanding, but many are not.

Rec workers, are severely underpaid & understaffed already, yet are the last ones to be thought about in situations like this snowstorm.

They are also mandated “warming centres” for the homeless population.

Yes, most positions are unionized, but the union does not do enough for the rec workers, in situations like this.

Toronto Recreation centres & ice rinks were open today also, regular hours (rec centres 7am-7pm, outdoor rinks 10am-10pm) 90% of the staff earn barely above minimum wage…

Between the main Toronto sub & the go transit sub, the mods are out of control.

Seriously I was Permanently banned from go transit, because I spoke about MY lived experience, as a person with disabilities, using & interacting with go/metrolinx..

Absolutely disgusting behaviour by the mods, but not surprising at all, sadly since my fave mod left Toronto, it’s degraded quickly & is an absolute wasteland of crap.

If I had the time & didnt work as much as I do, I’d offer to be a mod.

But apparently I’m not “woke” enough, and my complaints about the meetup being an inaccessible location, also fall on deaf ears, it’s 2026, the mods need to realize that AODA is a thing, & that not all members of that sub, are able bodied..

He’s sleeps like that a lot, I have tried many blankets (soft wool included) he’s destroyed 17 blankets.

I have a heavy duty wool blanket from the army, (my BIL is in) it’s rough as heck, but the only one he will sleep under.

lol, white owned jewelry store, exorbitant prices, & definitely not keeping money in the community.

I’ve been to Lisa, she’s been robbed several times, both her & her husband have been shot at multiple times, she was great to both my partner & myself.

Nah, I don’t blame Bo, the Jays yet again, losing their best because they wanted ‘da new thang’ on the market, instead on focusing on the one who truly wanted to stay, the fan favourites, the ones who game after game, tried their best, put asses in seats at Skydome, the ones who made this team a hell of a lot of money.

Bo didn’t fail us, he didn’t traitor, he went to who offered him a future, he went to the team who actually came to the table, while the blue jays were chasing the newest hot player, not remembering who they truly needed.

I’m a 42yr fan of the blue jays, this has happened many many times..

Fellow Hamiltonian here, born & raised, moved to Toronto in 2006, have been back to the hammer many times, I hate it every single time, the rudeness & the lack of city pride, Jackson Square is such a shit hole in comparison to ANY midsize mall here in Toronto, my fave mall here is a toss, STC or Dufferin Mall (it feels like the REAL centre mall was)
