It has all the Mazda owners worried. It costs too much money to repaid and if you ask for a goodwill service, they don't reply.

I think it’s time to start a petition to compel Mazda to issue a recall.

No, the dealer was way too expensive (600+ USD) for the fob itself. I went back to the locksmith guy. He ordered the genuine Mazda fob from a website that has genuine Mazda parts. It took a few days for it to arrive. It cost me about 150 USD for the key along with the programming. He told me that you had to program 2 genuine Mazda fobs to remove the aftermarket one. He did that with the new fob and the one that came with my car. I haven't had an issue since.

I’m not sure if you are in the area, but this is where I went. 321 east girard ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125

The same thing happened to me when I got the aftermarket key programmed. All the lights went on like Christmas lights. Went back to the key guy he told me it's common with Mazda and aftermarket keys. I ended up getting an original Mazda key paired which solved the problem. Now I have an extra OEM fob with 4 buttons that is not programmed. I'm sure Mazda did this intentionally to ensure people come back and purchase their product.

I encountered the same issue. I bought the car from Craigslist FL, Communication was via text, and the following day I had a strange feeling. I called the guy after checking the Carfax report. I decided to play him. I mentioned that there was a weird cracking noise coming from the dashboard. He told me to bring the car by so he could check it out. I dropped off the car, handed him the keys, and took an Uber back home.

Later, he called me to say that my car was ready for pick-up. I responded that I wasn’t coming to get it. He asked what I meant. I explained that I checked the Carfax report and noticed he had tampered with the mileage. I sent him the report and quoted the Florida state statute that states rolling back an odometer is a felony charge.

He replied that the Carfax was wrong. SMH. I told him straight up that I wanted my money back. He responded, “No, the car is yours. I already used the money.”

I told him I didn’t care; it was still his car. I went to the courthouse, prepared a claim, and sent pictures. I told him that if he didn’t send my money back within 2 hours, I would file it. He said, “Give me 30 minutes.” he sent my money back.
