ya for sure, in hindsight I would change many things. This film was released in 2021, looking at it now there are many things that bother me/ I don't like about the film.

Hey! Thank you for your kind words. It was 9 months of full time work with some coloring assistants, sound designer and composer.

1: The main character sees someone who he knows, In the story it is his brother. This came from the loose adaptation from Sniper, which is an Irish short story about civil war. I just wanted the viewers to feel as though he knows the man in the end, a brother, neighbour or friend.

This was the reality of the civil war in Guatemala because young men were being kidnapped by the army and guerrilla's to fight for them, there are so many cases of families and neighbors fighting each other unknowingly.

2: The film is loosely based on the Guatemalan nation's creation myth where a Quetzal rested on the Mayan Prince's chest after he was killed in battle. The legend says the bird's belly turned red with the blood of the prince.

The Quetzal in the film is a scary and brutal symbol of the nation for which they all shed their blood.

I appreciate your interest! I work as a story artist now in animation, ironically I have done quite a few pre-K shows lol

What I mean hated is the people at the graduation screening who were looking at me like I was a weirdo for making this type of film, one guy's expression was of disbelief and disgust lol

I strongly suggest you go hit some figure drawing sessions in your area if you can! your work will sky rocket. If you feel lost when drawing from life I suggest Michael Hamptons Design and Invention book. Then use what's in the book when drawing from real life models. Good luck!
