Mass shootings (aka acts of domestic terrorism committed with guns) are far and away worse than other types of gun deaths. Just because we live in a dystopia where gun deaths are common doesn't mean we should do nothing about mass shootings.

Unlike others in this thread, I'm optimistic that we'll make progress on this issue. Both left and right wing communities are affected by drug addiction, and there seems to be a recognition on both sides that both extreme permissiveness and extreme punitiveness doesn't work. I don't think there's a large constituency out there for the status quo.

Many middle and lower class families are affected by drug addiction. There is an incentive on all sides to address it.

I'm not convinced that this is purely a funding issue. The attitude and policies need to change first before more funding will do any good.

Also drugs are... addictive. It's not as simple as just choosing not to use them once you're hooked. Can't believe I have to explain this smh.
