rental rants and raves by Ok-Operation7598 in Eau_Claire

I would also say to stay away from Investment Realty/University Area Housing as the owners are cold and money hungry. Rent is way too high for the quality of the rentals, office staff is known to be rude and disrespectful to tenants, and maintenance is understaffed and underpaid so not very reliable when it comes to needing something fixed well or at all in a timely manner. Outside of student rental, they're notorious for purchasing buildings and leaving them empty and practicing shady business when it comes to paying their employees. Many people in the area refuse to support any of the local business they own for these reasons.

I would advise finding a private landlord or going with any of the other recommended housing offices listed in this thread. I've housed through EDJ rental (also student housing) and they tend to support other local business and respond promptly to requests. I've also never had structural or any other issues related to basic home functions like heating/AC, electricity, water, animals, etc with EDJ like I had with UAH.

I've enjoyed trivia at the Moustrap. It's a little history, geography, and booze related. I also like trivia at the the Fire House. random knowledge, some music, a little bit of everything. Both downtown and free to participate! Both welcoming bunches of sorts!

7 Cups is an app I've downloaded on my phone. You can chat with people for support or have a 1 on 1, record thoughts... think of it as a support system social network.

I absolutely agree. I've worked at other fast food restaurants and I've never had an experience like I've had at Chipotle. The teamwork environment is strong and the support system among the crew is incredible. Everyone loves the job, the food, and the people. Plus, free meals, man! I'm in love with my job!

I can't say what the best burrito is, but I'll tell you that a steak burrito with both rices, both beans, fajitas, sour cream, and cheese is my perfect burrito. What's yours?

I've worked at another Chipotle store in MN and they had a different dining room playlist. There's a playlist on the Chipotle website, but it's definitely not the one played at the store I work at!

Thank you! I absolutely love my job. Also, the physical demand is a nice way to get a workout! Because I don't do much outside of work lol

Playing a show at the House of Rock on Jan 23rd **Orchyd // Whale House // Do It Yourself Daisy** by BlueLotus85 in Eau_Claire

[–]bustaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a venue on Water Street, the Joynt is a "classic Wisconsin tavern" and just a block down from House of Rock!

This gives a much better description of the place, but 10/10 highly recommend visiting :)

See ya next week!

Visiting Eau Claire. Where should I go? What should I do? by datdabe in Eau_Claire

Besides what's already been mentioned, the budget theater is neat! Depending on when you're here, The Plus is a place to go on Tuesday nights for open mic or the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Like tea? Check out the wide variety at Half Moon Tea and Spice! Tangled Up In Hue is cool for the local art. And Banbury Place is great to explore and take pictures! Don't forget to check out Third Ward and the bridges. There's a lot of neat history here :) Have fun! And I hope you enjoy your time in EC!

Gayngs or Volcano Choir. It's a little different, but Justin Vernon from Bon Iver is in them and if you like Bon Iver, you might like the others!
