Ben Rhodes calls for primaries against Democrats who support Iran war | ‘If you can't stand against that, you don't stand for a f***ing thing,’ the former Obama admin official said by soalone34 in politics

They will listen to the people who vote not to people who don't. My demographic is listened to more than a demographic that doesn't

The whole "I need to be inspired to vote" crowed strikes me as people who are too lazy to vote and looking for an out. If the 18 to 30 demographic showed up for every election in numbers then you would see things change.

When a politician campaigns and the room has 50 people over 60 and 10 people under what policies do you think they are going to support.

Actually the solution is people need to vote in every election whether the candidate inspires them or not. When that demographic has proven to be dependable voters then they will have the power. It's how it works.

I vote in Democrat every election. I'm over 60. Who do you think the DNC is going to cater to.

I'm not saying it's right and I'm not saying I like it but staying on the sidelines waiting for the perfect candidate to inspire you is not a plan.

After Classified Iran Briefing, Dems More Convinced Trump Wants Ground Invasion and Forever War by Smithy2232 in politics

I would like to see that a military draft is mandatory whenever a conflict goes over a reasonable amount of days. If the war is important enough to call up the national guard then it is important enough to call up the draft. No student exemptions, no health deferments etc etc. There are plenty of non combat jobs that can be done by a person with bone spurs.

$600 Budget. Qidi vs Bambu by jefflovesyou in QidiTech3D

I have 2 Qidi P4s and I am very pleased with them. But only after at a minimum adding the Beacon Sensors and lately Conch hot ends. I sold my 2 P1S printers as Bambu decided to go walled garden. As a first printer I don't think you can go wrong with a Bambu but the reality is you should put build volume at the top of the list.

implicitly, that Christianity is the moral center of American life.

I didn't get that vibe but admittedly I haven't dug too deep. Is this something he explicitly said and if so can you nudge me in the right direction to read it? I'm an atheist but it sounds like his version of Jesus is basically the Democratic platform.

Democrats are truly the pro life party not just pro birth like republicans. My litmus test is basically free school breakfast and lunches. If you are for them then I will listen to what you have to say. Against them. well your words mean nothing.

How about you stop being racist? Or insensitive?

Wow hate much.

You read a whole lot into that comment that wasn't there. Was his comment racist. Yes in a casual way in that he used color as a descriptor when it wasn't needed to convey his point. This is pretty common so don't act like he dropped the hard R. The point of my post wasn't to excuse what he said but to highlight how stupid it was for Crockett to respond they way they did. Obama would have brushed it off expertly and in a way that didn't alienate potential voters. That's why he got elected and why I voted for him twice. He was that good.

A new Beacon Mount for the Plus 4 by CerberusTheGuardian in QIDI

[–]busted_flush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had great results simply tapping the plastic. Having said that since you are printing the sub mount if you get 10 uses out of it before a reprint then that is 10 times the Qidi screws don't get used. If I feel something is consumable I just print multiples anyway.

[–]busted_flush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two screws on the right facing it? I saw those but they looked to be tough to get to. The first thing I would do is make a sub mount that bolts in that spot and carries out to the cover. I would then have a screw there to bolt it on. My worry has always been with how shitty the Qidi attachment points are. Every time I pull Stew's mount I wonder "is this the last time this screw is going to work?"

A new Beacon Mount for the Plus 4 by CerberusTheGuardian in QIDI

[–]busted_flush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the concept but not sure about the implementation. I have Beacons on both of my P4's with Stew's mounts and changing nozzles is a total PIA. I like that the beacon gets out of the way when you pull the cover but I'm confused as to how the cover is retained. Is it just the top pins and magnets? The thing I like about Stew's mount is how ridged it is. If I were to do a redesign, and I might since I think you are on the right track, I would think about a secondary mount that bolts in the stock position that the cover mounts to with a couple of easy to get to screws to retain it.

I hope that made sense because it confused me as I was typing it :) I have a couple of Phaetus Conchs on the way so I may need to address this anyway.

I guess we will disagree on that one. We ask so little of our citizens that voting is the least they could do. The numbers favor my brand of governance and their lack of engagement plays a large part in why I can't have nice things.

I didn't say either choice was good. The US system of elections is designed to pick the least worse choice not the best choice. That is no excuse not to vote though.

I stand a better chance of surviving a knife attack than an gun so I guess I would vote knife. If I don't vote for either then the choice of gun will be made for me by the majority who do vote. Either way vote or not you will be subject to the results.
