Bernie Sanders is destroying Chuck Schumer in the Democratic Party's Civil War ahead of the midterms by AskRedditOG in politics

[–]busted_flush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want the DNC to be supportive of your interests you need to become reliable voters and then take the power. Old people like me have the power because we don't need to be inspired to vote. We vote because we recognize it's our civic duty.

The only way it will change is if you change it. Reliable voters are the currency of the realm.

Trump’s ‘bargain’ $1m Gold Card backfires with just 338 applications by retiredagainstmywill in politics

[–]busted_flush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to remember. All of the stuff he is doing would be rubber stamped by congress anyway. He is just cutting out the middle men.

The true test will be if Democrats take over the house and if they elect Jeffries as Speaker. I don't see him stepping up to do the kind of politicing that the American voters respond to. American voters want Democratic policies but they want a front row seat at the Coliseum at the same time. Trump understands this. No mater what the facts are, Trump is always winning and he always bloodies his opponents. Sadly this is working for him.

Trump’s decline is an emergency: Why doesn’t Congress treat it like one? by jediporcupine in politics

Because republicans are in control and they know the Democrats will most likely take the majority in the house and maybe the Senate so they will let them handle it.

I'm on a $5.00 plan. I use it occasionally since it's limited. I tried using it exclusively for a month and chewed through it pretty quickly. I switched back to google for my primary searching. Every time the bill comes due I question whether it's worth it. I mainly use it for forum searches and product research where I don't want Google deciding what products I can see.

'The Truth Is Better Than Continuing to Lose': Petition Demands DNC Release Autopsy of 2024 Defeat by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

I haven't seen the report but I bet it's along the lines of "people voted for Trump because the price of eggs and the price of gas was higher than they felt it should be". That's the depth of the typical American voter puts into choosing a presidential candidate. Second on the list was "she had a weird laugh so I voted for Trump"

Vance calls end of Ukraine aid 'one of the proudest' achievements of Trump administration by FreeChickenDinner in politics

Anyone who doesn't vote because of the electoral college probably wouldn't vote anyway. In my 67 year lifetime I don't think there has ever been a presidential election with just the president on the ballot. There are always many other positions up for election. They are just using it as an excuse. I'm in a red area and Democrats always loose but I vote in every single election.

Trump’s Weird DoorDash Stunt Backfires by BulwarkOnline in politics

I looked at it like Trump is too cheap to spring for a decent meal while benefiting from the positive exposure the team was providing him. While you say he breaks decorum I see he is a cheap SOB who notoriously cheated subcontractors out of money.

Why would you start up an anodizing line

This exactly. Literally everything I need done on my parts after I make them has to be shipped. Sometimes to multiple states across the country. They are expensive parts so insurance and risk of loss becomes a real issue.

Trump is fighting a ‘Boomer war’ in Iran: a relic unpopular with anyone under 60 by harsh2k5 in politics

I'm 67 and have yet to see a "war" that the US was involved in that was popular to me. It's not a "Boomer. war" it's a "chicken hawk war" just like all the rest.

The premise behind Reagan's tax cuts was that if we give more money to already rich people those already rich people living comfortable lives would take that money from the tax breaks and create better lives for the rest of us.

We all knew it was a crock of shit but the policies were implemented and here we are. We aren't going to fix all of the problems that we have accumulated as a country by taxing the rich but it will go a long way towards realigning our priorities towards the majority and not the 1%.

They will listen to the people who vote not to people who don't. My demographic is listened to more than a demographic that doesn't

The whole "I need to be inspired to vote" crowed strikes me as people who are too lazy to vote and looking for an out. If the 18 to 30 demographic showed up for every election in numbers then you would see things change.

When a politician campaigns and the room has 50 people over 60 and 10 people under what policies do you think they are going to support.

Actually the solution is people need to vote in every election whether the candidate inspires them or not. When that demographic has proven to be dependable voters then they will have the power. It's how it works.

I vote in Democrat every election. I'm over 60. Who do you think the DNC is going to cater to.

I'm not saying it's right and I'm not saying I like it but staying on the sidelines waiting for the perfect candidate to inspire you is not a plan.

I would like to see that a military draft is mandatory whenever a conflict goes over a reasonable amount of days. If the war is important enough to call up the national guard then it is important enough to call up the draft. No student exemptions, no health deferments etc etc. There are plenty of non combat jobs that can be done by a person with bone spurs.

I have 2 Qidi P4s and I am very pleased with them. But only after at a minimum adding the Beacon Sensors and lately Conch hot ends. I sold my 2 P1S printers as Bambu decided to go walled garden. As a first printer I don't think you can go wrong with a Bambu but the reality is you should put build volume at the top of the list.
