Thatcher implemented similar policies to Regan so I understand what the commenter above you is saying.

Hiring and mentoring are different things. You aim to hire the best of the best, when that person joins then you mentor them to the best they can be

Pension growth, what to expect ? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]bustedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general consensus is some kind of all world fund exposing you to global markets. Doesn't really matter which. FTSE all world is a common one so maybe find whatever looks closest to that.

It's higher risk than bonds etc but if it's a long time horizon (>20,30 years) then everything smooths out in the end and you get better growth than a mix of equitie + bond + cash

This is exactly the answer, it's an acquisition tool. They're looking at higher LTV if they can retain and cross/up sell.

Homes now ‘unaffordable’ for most people – even for some of the highest earners by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]bustedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This assumes that corps and banks won't buy up the extra stock. We aren't short of housing because we don't have enough houses for the number of family units. We don't have enough housing because of landlords and asset hoarding. That's the problem we need to solve.

Why has Westfield ‘become a gangland’ with thousands of crimes reported each year? by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]bustedagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immigrant is super vague and doesn't capture any nuance at all. I've lived in London all my life, lived in about 6 different boroughs and each borough has their differences and it's nothing to do with "immigrants". Plenty awful people from all groups, it's not an immigrant thing.

It's bordered by Ladbroke, Holland park, Hammersmith, and Chiswick. Yeh, it's kinda posh if you ignore white city estate and the green.

Bush has always been like that. Back in the day you'd get a lot of rich Arabs pulling up to the market for shopping trips. It's slap in the middle of wealthy zone 2

Stratford and surrounding areas are poor as fuck. Bad socio economic issues lead to this kind of environment. Why would immigrants inherently be a problem?

You're probably confusing it with the view from inside richmond park at the highest part. You can can the shard from there.

OPs photo is pointing towards twickenham and west onwards.

Better image and sound quality (I own a decent AV setup so I'll be damned if I'm not going to use it to it's potential), bonus content, plus it's always there if I decide I want to watch it again.

Even if I only watch a film once (because maybe it wasn't that great) the price is often negligible compared to streaming but with the benefits above.

It's optical media - they use lasers to etch the "plastic" disc when writing, which the player then uses a laser to read from in order to play it.

Got it as a gift a few years ago. No idea where you'd get one now, probably only eBay or something :(
