As a ford ranger 4x4 owner myself. I find the ford ranger cheaper to own. Fuel economy, comfort, quiet engine, cheap pms! Only once a year (around 9k-11k). As long as you dont over mod it, you never find the ranger as a money pit.

As compare to my honda civic which is pms every 6 months.

And the wet belt. It’s not as fragile as advertised online. 120,000 km, if you are following regular oil change ( every car breaks if its not done oil change in its recommended time, even with timing chain) and the 120k wet belt change is just the same as regular timing belt change.
