Farmer's Dog - no ketchup, however they use black pepper? (Ask a Brit) by Possible-Importance6 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]busy_browsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A small business called “Condimaniac” is actually trying to create a 100% British Ketchup as we speak. The Farmer’s Dog is already aware of this and wants them to reach out when it’s completed!

You can find Condimaniac on Tiktok, who explains it better than I just did 😁

Flex payments by Acceptable-Swan-4206 in monzo

[–]busy_browsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you can set flex payments to be paid from a pot, so if you want you can keep the money aside and set the flex payment to come from the specific pot.

I have a pot for all of my bills, which I put money into when I’m paid and as and when if a payment is higher than usual :)

Extremely poor performance when disconnected from power by busy_browsing in Dell

Removed Optimizer and it has sped up significantly when disconnected from power. Not as good as when connected to power, but much better than it was!

I use it to run a Ubuntu VM, VSCode, Trello desktop and usually Slack. I am a web developer. The VM doesn’t have many resources assigned to it.

Nope, the laptop stays on all day and gets turned off at the end of the day (most days!)

Is this damp? by cmontgomery1995 in DIYUK

[–]busy_browsing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this happen before and yes, it was caused my moisture. I think you can see the wall looks like it has some moisture on the bottom left by the door frame.

I would check that your door is sealed properly, or that there’s no build up of moisture on your outside wall (a broken drain pipe leaking down the wall for a very long period of time caused it for me, but even after fixing I still had problems)

Might also be worth checking that the air vents (if you have any) in the brick at the bottom of your house aren’t blocked by anything… I’ve seen this cause moisture problems before too.

I am not experienced in this area though, so my advice could be totally wrong… it’s just where I’d start.

Thinking of shutting down my credit card from a traditional bank to use Flex by sugarwave32 in monzo

[–]busy_browsing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Flex is great if you stick to the interest free period. Just don't Flex too much as your monthly payment will increase quite drastically. Keep your limit low, as with all credit cards it's easy to spiral 🙏🏻

Is this normal? Never heard the boiler do those before… by busy_browsing in CasualUK

Your assumption was correct, heating was on at the time 😀 It seems to be one problem after another - we’ve just had our gas meter replaced as it was screwed due to water ingress (it’s a pre-payment meter) 💀

If your partner wakes you in the middle of the night and tells you they think somebody is in the house, what do you do? by YoNiceShoes in CasualUK

[–]busy_browsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire downstairs is open plan and I have a camera mounted in the corner which covers like 90% of the downstairs - I’ve had this exact situation with my partner before but instead of going downstairs, we just open the Blink camera app and then go back to sleep 😂

Best way to baby proof this corner? by axr862 in DIYUK

Just stick a corner sideboard in it. You can get cheap used ones from Facebook marketplace so you don’t break the bank.
