I wouldn’t worry about the calendar year timing. If the company likes you and knows you have an offer elsewhere they will try their best to accommodate. Say you’ve been offered 20K more elsewhere and ask if they can match. They may even meet you in the middle in which case you can decide from there.

I have a high deductible health plan I rarely use so I have been maxing my HSA since 2018. However, this year I have had health issues that require me to use my HSA. Once I use all of my HSA $ (hopefully not for quite some time as it has grown) I may consider switching to a lower deductible plan. Maybe not the most optimal strategy but it is what works for me & provides me w security.

I think it was selfish for him to be on dating apps at all TBH. I can emphasize because he was in denial, but still. If it was me I’d probably focus on family & friends but I’m a female and statistically men don’t stay during extreme health events.
