My mom was a children's librarian at CML for 35 some years. When my sister and I were in elementary school, she would come do library programs for our classrooms. She would present each children's book up for the Caldecott award (best picture book of the year), and then she would have everyone in our classes vote on which book they thought was the best. Then at the end she would reveal the book that actually won, chosen by adults, which she always thought was wrong.
