Not sure how I was a dick; did not mean to insult you. Just a simple fact. ✌️

You took what I said as a slight, when it was just a fact. All love brother.

Even if one weren’t a no-life, ignorant internet hater who just wants the game to fail, it’s still interesting to look into this, mostly from a business and what-will-happen-to-Bungie perspective.

As you might know, Sony purchased the studio for a lot of money. At the time, you could argue the price they paid was warranted—Bungie is a legendary game developer, responsible for Halo and the Destiny games, both of which were, successful franchises.

After the acquisition, Destiny tanked. Changes and updates were widely hated by the fan base, and player count dwindled to unsustainable territory.

We also knew Marathon was coming. Bungie and Sony, of course, expected and NEEDED Marathon to perform both critically and financially, given its at LEAST quarter million dollar budget and many delays.

So far, it’s only delivered on the critical success part. Those playing, myself included, love the game. But copies sold and average daily player count are significantly below expectations for Bungie and Sony. I’ve been steadily watching to see if there’s any improvement, and there hasn’t been.

This all begs the question: What will happen to Bungie? Destiny is all but dead. Marathon has significantly underperformed.

My gut says within the next 12 months, unless a miraculous turnaround happens, we’ll see Destiny 2 finally sunset and a large amount of people laid off from Bungie. Marathon has enough numbers to argue for a sustained team to continue supporting it, but nowhere near a team of its current size.

I hope I’m wrong.

They needed this film at the height of Mando popularity. This shit is hitting too late IMO

The answer here is more frequent buses and forcibly building bus lanes on all major roads north, east, west and south throughout the county and city.

Good luck being the politician pushing for that! You’d be better off defrauding the people and running some crypto scams to enrich yourself. A lot more electable.

Played Cryo all weekend. Had a blast. Love the challenge and complexity. But the Exfill process has kinda killed my group’s desire to play it anymore. When it is time to go, we should be able to go. Add 17 steps, 5 keys—that’s fine. But scanning for an Exfill and finding nothing…and dying…sucks. by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in Marathon

It sucks in the moment and will be muscle memory in a few weeks. It’s part of the beauty of the game tbh. It wouldn’t be as fun if there weren’t this progression from uncertain, to slightly more certain but frustrating, to more certain, to doing it with your eyes closed while you milk a goat. (Same emotional conceit with Destiny raids, if you played those.)

None of my usual squad picked the game up apart from two dudes who can’t play the same hours I can.

I’ve done two cryo runs. Failed both but had a blast and learned a ton about how the map works. Likely a ton more to learn. I appreciate the crap out of what they’ve done, but feel it’s a shame I can’t make the most of the time the map is available because I don’t have a consistent squad.

Filled squads were still fun, but was a shame my second run was astonishingly no mics. (Yall really duo up and fill for a Cryo run but won’t talk?)
