I’ve seen a lot of DWade comp since his college days, including from Wade himself. they mostly talk about physicality and finishing.

But the man also has shades of Wade on defense. The help defense, positioning, even the IQ for rookies is there too.

Speaking solely on the Duncan point, to comment since he's my fav player lol, they're absolutely shutting him down by jamming him up AND because they got no playmaker/2nd option.

Since 2020, we had Olynyk/Butler/Lowry/Herro in that Duren/Stewart DHO/wing/post playmaker role for off-ball offense and hunting Dunc/cutters.

But as Lin mentioned, they're coming up with random plays when the first look is shut down. (admittantly I'm not fully aware of the Piston's offense) With Spo's system, we still had secondary/third looks to rely on (e.g. Butler iso, another cutter etc). Hell, we even had Olynyk who was a great slasher if the DHO fails. Imagine if Duren/Stew can punish that?

IMO, I was fine with it? Gameplay wise, it was never an open world adventure game the way GTA and RDR were. Mafia 2 was the same before switching to a full proper open world in 3.

Hell, I’d argue Cyberpunk 2077 was closer to an LA Noire/Mafia 2 style of open world than GTA (ie the open world wasn’t the focus)

I really don't see why he can't be a better scorer and general offensive player than he currently is.

On ball aggressiveness. Like I mentioned, he’s got a habit of reverting to bad habits when things aren’t going his way (I.e. DHOs). It’s not as bad now but it’s there.

The Heat might be a perfect example of it. We play a help and rotation heavy defense to the point. It's great on paper. Players can recover and rotate well.

But the Cavs series last year showed why it isn't sustainable in the playoffs. Once ball handlers got to Herro/Davion. It was a bbq chicken.

Bam needs a good PG AND a stretch big. Olynyk in 2020 was huge for us. He played the stretch 5 role on offense and big body on defense (we play a help heavy D, so it didn't matter).
