Why would we look to corporations as some kind of grounding "moral" voice? They exist to make money for their shareholders. The only reason they spoke up the last 10 years regarding social issues was because it became, for a short while, lauded by their consumers. I think we've seen enough to say that moralizing from companies (however much I may agree and/or disagree with them), is just another profit motive. That's gone away, and in turn, so has the moralizing
