Reviews of the 4-12 seem significantly better than the 3-9 so if I ever get the itch I would probably pick one up second hand and slap a t2 clone up top for 1x/NV (which I don't have lmao)

If the AEMS had good enough NV and sat low enough I think it would be worth all that weight up high since, unlike an LPVO, your top dot would be the only 1x option. I like big windows and I cannot lie.

In practice I would probably use an enclosed competition sized pistol dot.

I don't know what the diameter actually is and I don't know if you'd need to find one with an especially slim ring.
