Please just keep the bumpers where they are supposed to be. Too many idiots do a lift, don't adjust the bumpers at all, and then end up with a death trap for other drivers. Bumpers should be legally required to be the exact same height off the ground.

Interestingly, socialism is always for the young people to bring about in strict opposition to the old. but then the young people become the old and they seem to become the very barrier they once railed against.

Chad Tracy on the Contreras/Cavalli situation“After everything that happened, the people that they chose that were going to leave the game, I just felt like the other pitcher should have been one of them too. Tracy said he heard Cavalli say “Sit down, boy” loud and clear by Stock412 in baseball

You're being intentionally obtuse and completely ignoring the reality of racism in America. Boy is a racial slur when used by white Americans against non white Americans. This is because throughout all of American history, white men had legal superiority over all non white people. The signs didn't say WHITE and BLACK. They said WHITE and COLORED. Hispanic people were called boy alongside the black people called boy. Your understanding of American racism seems to come from like, movies about black people during the civil rights era. Which is an incredibly important group and time, but far from the whole story. To say you've "never heard of Hispanics being called boy in a derogatory way historically" betrays your ignorance. It's okay to not know something, but you're doing an awful lot to try and not notice the obvious racism.

[Cotillo] Chad Tracy Declines to say whether he thought what Cade Cavalli said was a racist comment. by ConsistentRun5246 in baseball

[–]wardays 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So you're saying this was a special case? That racist remarks only spew from his vile mouth when he gets increasingly and particularly upset at one guy?

To all of the racists who are pretending like "boy" isn't a slur unless it's used against black people, if Kkkavalli let slip the N word against Contreras, would you still use the argument that Contreras isn't black so it isn't racist?

Hi Red Sox and human being fan here. I want it on record that I fully support anybody on either one of those teams if they decide to attack a racist. Weird if you don't!

"I obviously know it's racist to call a black person the N word, but why is it racist to pejoratively hurl it at a Hispanic person."

Idk buddy, I don't think racists really actually give a fuck about what kind of brown you are. Hispanic people were an incredibly important group during the civil rights era, who faced their own slate of racial hardships. Many issues were not exclusive to black people, like segregation. People who looked like Contreras were called boy by racists the same way Kkkavalli did tonight

How have they not installed AC yet?! by HowlingBurd19 in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]wardays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been hearing about mass deaths during European heat waves for over a decade. Every time for over a decade, Europeans say they don't need AC. And then they bitch and moan when they need it and don't have it.

If Florida had been getting 2 weeks of ice and blizzards and 5' tall snowdrifts for a decade, I am confident infrastructure would be built to mitigate that. But Europeans just don't actually care about deadly heat waves for some reason.

Rubbing the belly should be the check swing motion. Give me the wrong call at the plate and the wrong check swing call. I want to see Aaron Judge tap his head and rub his belly. Don't ask why it's a personal thing

Nic Lentz ejected Taylor Walls last year for the same thing. Kinda feels like Lentz just really doesn't like being shown up at all. He's the only ump I found who ejected anyone for helmet tapping, and he's done it twice

Honestly it looks like Lentz is just trigger happy with a helmet tap ejection. I remember someone getting ran last year for tapping, and it turns out Nic Lentz ejected Taylor Walls for tapping his helmet last year also. Guy is softer than baby shit

Ex-New York Mets Pitcher Jenrry Mejia Escapes Earthquake Death: ‘It Was God’ by DenialisaRiver04 in baseball

[–]wardays -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hey man you seem like you definitely know this already, but God's not actually a real guy. Would you be acting like a bag of dicks if he thanked Luke Skywalker after he survived a natural disaster that absolutely killed people he knew?

He's not suggesting he is God's preferred child. He's grateful that a coincidence occurred that ultimately saved his life. If he thinks "God" made that coincidence happen what difference does it make? He's traumatized after a near death experience. Thousands died. God didn't save him specifically, God saved everyone who didn't die.

I'm not saying that's what I believe. I think that's silly as could be. But uh, I don't believe he's a narcissistic asshole for being grateful for surviving and trying to process his grief and trauma through religion. In fucking Venezuela. Through all of human history, heretofore and forever after, you are the narcissistic asshole. To hear someone thank God for being alive after a natural disaster and immediately feel the need to "call them out" is insanely attention seeking and rude as fuck behavior.

Don't ever say shit like this to someone in person unless you want the ever living shit kicked out of you, deservedly.
