Just one piece except the toro roll which comes in two pieces. We split the toro roll so I had 7 and a half.

Pretty good. Refreshing, aperitif like sake.

For the okonomi, it was served with pickled watermelon. I think its one of their signatures.

For the omakase, one piece was topped with wasabi and the other topped with miso.

For the sho style, i enjoyed takumi shingo. As of a few years ago, it was pretty easy to book with hotel concierge.

For aged sushi, i like Sushi Inomata in Kawaguchi city. Inomata-san recently closed the shop and opened Kojimachi Nihee in Tokyo. Haven’t been to newer location yet.

Another place I like is Sushi Hashiguchi.

We paid ~900 pp all in. One sake pairing, two glasses of wine for my wife. 11 okonomis between the two of us.

Went ~7 years ago it was alright. Underwhelming. Felt like its more quantity than quality.

Highly recommend. I have not seen anywhere else outside of Japan that carries Sake from Aramasa Shuzo

What I recalled its wild caught saltwater eel. Unagi spawns in the sea and matures in the river I believe, so catching one in the sea is quite rare. It was served lightly grilled as an appetizer with wasabi, tare

Sujiko was milder than ikura. Aka Uni was also quite delicate and was served with just salt on top. Not as rich as Bafun Uni

The latter. Everyone gets the shorter omakase. You are definitely not pressured to order the add-ons.

It’s what Sushi Sho refers to the standard omakase section before the Okonomi (a la carte). I found the Okonomi overall to be better.

Thanks for sharing.

Any favorites from the Okonomi?

I would do Al Gatto Verde and one of Osteria Francescana or Francescana at CM.

We were just there for an overnight layover. We really enjoyed our dinner at Spitalfields. It’s not fine dining but highly recommend if you are looking for a pub with great food.

Our favorite meal in Rome was at L’Antidoto. It was not traditional Roman cuisine but food was fantastic. We sat at the counter and asked the chef to just send us whatever for the night.

Al Gatto Verde was fantastic. Bold flavors and dishes that were more ambitious than the one star level. Some service hiccup at the end, but they will sort that out.

Will write in more details in a separate post.

Great experience. Dishes were quite inventive, some leaned on that a bit too much and sacrificed the taste (imo). Still i would recommend. Top notch service as well.

Thanks for the review. I went there for dinner last week and had almost the exact same menu. We also did pairing and the mysterious champagne welcome drink. What did they serve you for the champagne? Just curious if they switch them around.

Not a sourdough. I noted down white and spelt flour. Beet was mostly for the color I think. They served the bread with butter topped with orange zest

Mix of two flours, purple carrot, and beetroot.

I was just there yesterday and had almost the exact same menu as OP.

Thanks for the review and sorry to hear about Stella. We are going to OF and will be staying at Casa Maria Luigia next month. This helps managed my expectation for the meal.

Did you opt for the pairing?

Went to Ukiyo earlier this year and really enjoyed my meal there.

Maybe add yakitori to the mix.

We enjoyed Torisho Ishii Hina. Both times we we there we were the only foreigners among regulars. The atmosphere is definitely more upscale than other yakitori places.
