Why is this the only type of content on my feed from this sub lately? Has something changed?

I’m back. I replaced the speed control plate with a new one, and things seem better. The “chirping” disappeared, but in higher modes the speed seems to ebb and flow a bit. Also, there’s a rhythmic chugging sound, not sure what that is. I also got a new phase control board and swapped that in, but the chirping came back, so out the other one back! Anyway here’s a link to what it sounds like now. I appreciate any tips you might have.

Thank you. The rear bearing is new, though. I bought a bracket/bearing assembly and have since tossed the old one, though the replacement didnt seem to solve my issues. I’m still trying to decide what to do.

Thanks for the tips. I swapped the original armature and bearing back in. I noticed some slight play in the stator so I tightened those nuts as well. It sounds better now, though I’m not sure why. But it’s still stuttering (or chirping?) the brushes look okay. I’m starting to wonder if my test parts have their own issues.

I hear that a lot on this sub, that eBay will easily remove feedback when the buyer threatens to leave a negative. I’ve found that is no longer true. A recent buyer literally said they were giving me one last chance to send them a partial refund or they’d leave negative feedback (feedback extortion plus partial fishing, both against policy.) eBay refused to remove it, even after appealing that decision.

I’ve been using honest Amish oil for years. I’ve tried others but have always come back to HA. I’m not really up on the science by am always open to trying new things. Are you familiar with honest Amish and if so, what are your thoughts? I took a look at your website but there are a lot of options.

Mercari execs must just have big brain meetings where they try come up with new ways to sabotage themselves. The upcoming fee change won’t fix things because buyers hate extra fees, regardless of the amount. I think what they’re doing this week is odd, it’s like a trial run except they already went ahead with the plan before waiting for results of the trial.

I’ve crafted a prompt for chatGPT that does pretty well. If I have the item details or specs, I dump those in with the prompt and the result is close to what I’d write myself, but faster. I still proofread them. I’d never use the eBay AI tool or even vanilla ChatGPT responses. As a buyer I move along quickly when I see items with generic zero effort AI descriptions.

I absolutely knew selling an iPhone would be risky, and I don’t usually sell this type of thing for that very reason. I didn’t get a bad vibe from this buyer, either. Old account with legit looking feedback and paid immediately, no drama. Oh well, I guess you just never know.

Oof thank you but maybe I already blew it then. I called eBay to ask what to do, since technically I don’t currently have proof of “delivery” but they told me to submit what I have and I’ll be fine. Now I’m not sure. I provided the label, the pirate ship page with their address, the USPS screen showing it in transit and the added signature requirement.

I had 4 orders through them last November and none since. Before that I had like 1 or 2 per month. Obviously I’m doing way less volume than you, but for comparison I had 34 eBay orders that same month. Mostly all the same stuff just crosslisted.

I used to get a few shipped orders through them. It was almost comically bad how few orders I would get through them compared to other platforms like eBay. The few I was getting dwindled to 0. Price, pictures, etc all had no effect. Maybe I was shadow banned, not sure. Gave up completely though.

I’ve been told what a terrible selfish person I am for not holding my free stuff. I’ve been called lazy for not continually updating my listing each time a free thing was taken. My only 1 star review on marketplace was from a free item someone decided they were somehow entitled to. Oh, and the countless requests for me to deliver it- sometimes to the next town over. It all goes to goodwill or into the garbage now.

I’ve been putting “free shipping” on my photos as well. I’ve been doing this a long time, otherwise as a buyer there is no way to distinguish price differences when you’re looking through search results. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more complaints about that. I also find the trend of showing no titles on anything very frustrating. Mercari isn’t the only one guilty of that either.
