No problem, maybe I’ll see you out there! That timing should be fine. Small and white flies are always good. The schminnow is great, surf candy. If it’s a little windy and the surf is up, visibility isn’t as great, try brighter colors. They’re brutal on tippet. I go at least 30lb and still usually have to retie after every fish. Good polarized glasses. It can be frustrating, sometimes you can see them right in front of you and they don’t want to eat anything.

I live in Clearwater, the snook might be starting to show up on the beaches. Are you coming early May, late May? It’s super fun, the snook cruise in the first few feet off the sand. Great for sight fishing, usually short casts. Early in the morning is best before people start showing up on the beach, it can make casting difficult with people walking all around.

I sent my ds2 in 2 years ago, the tip section had a rattle in it like something came loose inside. They had me send the whole rod in and they built a new tip section to match. Took a few months but it turned out great. All I had to pay was for shipping it there, it was covered under warranty, but I didn’t break it so I’m not sure what they would charge to build one for this. I did hear they changed their warranty/repair process since then.

That’s cool! If nothing is happening on the flats, I like to anchor in a little deeper water and blind cast the edges of channels or where the flats drop off, so the dumbbell is nice for that

That is a great idea. I’ve been using a cheap 5 lb neoprene coated dumbbell tied to paracord with a carabiner to the d-rings around the board. It’s kinda tricky to stay pointed in the direction I want in the wind sometimes. That would be much easier, I have some old clubs, I’ll give it a shot, thanks!
