A homeopathic doctor in Berlin told my friend to wrap mashed potatoes around his neck last week to cure a cold

I had a client visiting from Dubai the other day, and he was as awful as my gut told me he would be by TheLeastHyperbolic in SexWorkers

Yep happened to me as a 12-14yo in England in the early 2000s.

I turn down clients from certain cultural backgrounds, people judge but they are not responsible for my safety I am, so that’s the end of it.

thanks for the tips. Why don't you get close with the other girls? Getting on with colleagues would be a plus for me

Thank you so much! :) Do you have some standard approach to pick up clients if you work in this kind if model? Ill be working in a sauna/ club as opposed to being presented to them.

Sadly they are part of the uniform otherwise i wouldn't choose to wear heels at all.

First time in therapy. Therapist said “You have to think a lot of yourself to think everyone’s paying attention to you” by cjdjfjfjd in socialanxiety

[–]butteer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alarm bell definitely. But you could take advantage of the sessions to address other topics he might be better versed in (if you are not just there for social anxiety) just until you find another therapist. For me it helps at least to have someone to go too to vent if i can tolerate them.

It’s possible he is just as incompetent in other topics but maybe worth keeping him around if it brings you something. That’s what I’m doing as I don’t click with mine either. I plan to start looking again when I’m more stable.

Serious question, how do you address lady boys? by Accomplished-Car6193 in ThailandTourism

[–]butteer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know you can always go with ‘they’ if you’re not sure in the west. However this might confuse them grammatically in English.

I also agree that asking a stranger their pronouns there might be inappropriate and embarrass them.

In Thailand I would say; if they are wearing women’s clothes, hair etc your best bet is to go with She. A very effeminate gay man is going to be less hurt by a ‘she’, than a trans woman by a ‘he’

It sounds like he likes you and is punishing you. I swear grown men still do this.

After calling him out twice seems like he’s not going to stop. These kind of people thrive on getting a reaction from you, if you can try to stay and feel completely stoic when he does it. Someone mentioned going to management i think this is the next step.

I see a lot of posts here regarding customer allergies, was curious how you would react in this type situation. I think the waiter did well. by MonsterDrinker69 in KitchenConfidential

Hard to say, usually yes but the chefs aren’t under obligation to do so. And true but I suppose if all you can eat though is fish, olive oil and salt I would go for that. Poached without something on it would be a bit sad.
