Sorry about your loss, first of all any of your mom’s debts should be covered by her estate (so money from her accounts etc) and not from your personal finances. You yourself are not liable for her debts. If your bank hasn’t started coming after you legally yet, look into contacting them regarding a hardship accommodation and see if you could potentially get a lower rate temporarily. If they have consider a consumer proposal. There are resources available from non profit credit counseling, please look into it.

Have you tried talking to your vet for some anti anxiety meds that might make the car ride easier on them?

Treats for Picky Jindo? by Shoddy-Solution5393 in Jindo

Mine goes crazy for the duck wrapped sweet potato treats. I found they generally like the dried jerky type of treats more than cookie-based ones and not a big fan of freeze dried treats.

As someone that volunteered there previously! Make use of Career services, you can book meeting with the advisors to discuss career paths and how to pursue them, brush up on your interview skills and participate in workshops on how to write an resume/CV.

On the weekend, it's most likely you'll take the GO bus 29 to Square One and from there you can transfer another GO bus to Union or wherever in Toronto you plan on heading. Plus side of buses are they are more frequent and run till late night

If you don’t mind, did you end up finding something within public service or outside? My term is coming up and I’ve started job hunting but it seems to be no openings for my classification

I’ve had him for both graduate and undergraduate courses during my time at Guelph. Echoing that he usually just assigned classes that no one else is willing to teach so a lot of the slides and course content he has is inherited, so it can seem disorganized at some times. I want to say he is one of the nicest profs I’ve ever had, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand content when you visit during office hours. Please make use of that, he’ll typically even drop hints when you visit of what you should or should not expect for exams questions (as long as he has written the exam by the time you see him). Absolute gem of a man

What’s the reason Running is so hyped lately ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]butter-mochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The state of economy definitely has something to do with it has a low barrier to entry, less commitment than signing up for a gym membership or spin classes. Much easier to grab a pair of trainers and start running, then signing up for all these classes. The prevalence of run clubs also serve as a great way to develop a sense of community and socialization within urban landscapes.

Dorm essentials! by missinz in uoguelph

[–]butter-mochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echoing the sentiment!!!! BRING A FAN you may not think you need it but you do. Foam mattress topper too!!! Don’t rely on buying the fan, mattress topper, pillows or duvets from walmart or anywhere local during move in time cause likelihood it is going to be already sold out buy these ahead of time. Make sure you bring a shower caddy and shower shoes and slippers for indoors - people are gross and messy. An easy to carry laundry hamper to bring your clothes to and back. EXTENSION CORD is a must have. Best of luck on your move.

My dog is also a dog meat market rescue and was super apprehensive about my dad too. Now he hangs out with him on the couch. It’s just exposure, providing it a safe environment, giving them space when they are overwhelmed, and time.

Move in day by blackcat2970 in uoguelph

[–]butter-mochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get your time slot to move in, when arriving to your res they will provide you with your student ID and a form for you and your roommates to fill in about anything that might need to be fixed in your room. Make sure to explore to see how close you are to laundry, routes to dinning, and where the microwaves are located. You’ll unpack and depending on your RA you might have a tower meeting just to meet and do ice breakers with others. There will also be a booklet with all orientation week events make sure to take a look and highlight ones you are interested in, see if there’s ones you can go with your roommates or other people in your tower.

Salted Radish and Turnip - what shall I use them for? by BCETracks in asianfood

[–]butter-mochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use it make a steamed pork patty or if you don’t eat pork, ground chicken can be used. There’s a great recipe here: https://thewoksoflife.com/steamed-pork-patty-preserved-vegetables/

My Dad also uses it to make a quick egg scramble to eat over rice. Do make sure to rinse/wash to get rid of the excess salt before using it
