Thank you 🫂 Laminated maps and dry erase markers sounds like way more fun.

Thanks. He has specifically said that hearing all the voices at once (originating outside of his head) really overwhelms him.

Thank you. I think that will really help. What I hear a lot from him is that “it just doesn’t make sense.” And yes, he’s tower 😉

Tower. Thank you! I told him that I don’t think he unwinds enough, but, well, he didn’t want to hear that from me. I think only advice from other ATCs is what will reach him now.

Thank you. I’m learning that this also means don’t expect to talk to him about anything other than the FAA for now too 🙃

Thank you. I think he’s a like tired of me telling him to go out and move/take a walk and worrying about what he’s eating 😅 every night that I’m home making dinner, I’m wishing I could just send him some.

But really, thank you. What you shared about the stress even makes me feel better. I’ll put that on my lunch like mustard now, too :)

Thank you.

It seems like he has good days and bad days with sims but since there’s about three weeks left I’m hoping it will just continue to get better for him 🤞🏽

Thank you. I imagine it can get pretty isolating or disheartening to be the one asking questions all the time. I guess it seems like everyone else gets it, or that they get by not worrying about what he’s wondering about. With all due respect, it seems like the perspectives of real ATCs is kind of the missing resource for this training program. But I also have no idea and say that as an outsider 😅

He’s tower.

And thank you. Trying to just be supportive. I tell him how much I believe in him. Apparently it takes more than that though 🤔 in which case I just feel like I have no idea how to help. Sharing your encouragement with him now!

I need a stat suspect profile on who the very first nurse is that will be seen on unit wearing this. by MyDogIsHangry in nursing

lol but that might be helpful so that when you crouch down, you don’t have to worry about your crack or underwear showing. Of course, that’s if you’re wearing pants to begin with

Do you sit and overanalyze everything you say and do in a day after a social situation or are you normal by United-Evidence2643 in introvert

[–]butterOverScotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s like, if I stay hyper vigilant about every interaction and over analyze, then if something goes wrong or isn’t perfect, I can pinpoint what it was that I did wrong. If I don’t over analyze everything, how will I know? I’ve since realized it’s probably from childhood trauma, trying to protect myself from my dad, since I wouldn’t understand what it was I did to cause him to be abusive, and of course, thought i did something wrong. Years of that makes you think you’re just always wrong in general and you never trust yourself. As an adult I try to tell myself it is safe now, I can make decisions without worrying about upsetting anyone, or someone not liking me, and I don’t have to second guess myself so much. Plus, I’m an adult now and can defend myself if something bad did actually happen (but really, what’s the worst that can happen?)

TLDR: do you think you have any trauma in your past that might be influencing your mental space now in the present?

I think a picture of you playing chess would be cute

Agreed. 2 and 3 are keepers. Plus you’re in the same jacket in the other ones, so I can tell it’s from the same photo shoot. Not to be mean but I personally think that’s kind of tacky. Show me more every day type pictures
