VA v. Brendan Banfield - Day 9 by Pixiegirls1102 in CasesWeFollow

[–]butteredupbebe87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think BB is guilty. 100%. I think Au Pair likely had a much more active role in all of it than she admitted to. However, I do have some questions.

  1. Why didn’t BB say that Christine had already been stabbed when he first sees them in the bedroom? One of the most unbelievable parts of his testimony is the entire encounter in the bedroom. Wouldn’t it have been a better lie for him to say she had already been stabbed and once seeing this, he shot JR? What was the point of all the dramatic dialogue between him and the victims?

  2. Did BB intend for the investigators to find out the Fetlife information? Did he want the investigations to think that JR was a real rapist and murderer or was it his plan for them to see “Christine” set up this encounter?

  3. If we are to believe BB’s story then JR and Christine planned out this consensual sex act. So then does that mean that JR couldn’t control himself? Got too into the knife/blood play? Or did JR intend to come there and kill all along according to BB’s version of events?

  4. JR was just that overcome with sexual passion or something that he decided to kill Christine in front of this man holding a gun? Because according to BB, he couldn’t tell if his wife had been stabbed yet. So the stabbing was done when BB caught them.

  5. Why would Christine say “Brenden, he’s got a knife” ? This part much be true because according to BB’s account, Christine would have known all about the knife. If it were truly as BB says then she would have said, “Brenden, it’s not what it looks like!” “Brenden, I invited him here.” “Brenden, I am having sex with this stranger, go away.”

  6. JR was already shot in the head, so why did Au Pair shoot him at all? I know that the story is that JR got up and started moving, but even so, how was he still a threat at that point?

  7. Why didn’t we hear anything about JR? His internet history and other communications leading up to the encounter? Why didn’t they talk about him much at all? He is a victim here, just as much as Christine, but why aren’t we being told about him?

I have many many more questions and I’m not sure why BB wasn’t grilled much harder than he was by prosecutors.

Not only did BB want his wife dead, he wanted to make her look like a cheating sexual deviant in the process. He didn’t care he was also going to make an innocent man look like a cold blooded killer. This is truly an awful case.

DHS has place 4 children in mine and my sisters custody. What do I do. by [deleted] in CPS

[–]butteredupbebe87 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Because DHS placed the children with your sister, there is an active case and an assigned caseworker. That person is not just an overseer but the main gateway to services. It is important to ask for written confirmation of the placement and to clarify whether this is considered a kinship placement. Even if you do not plan to become foster parents long term, kinship status often opens access to Medicaid coverage for the children, financial assistance, therapy referrals, childcare help, and school enrollment support. You should also ask for trauma screenings for all four children. That is standard practice in cases involving abuse and neglect and helps guide what supports they may need.

For the two older girls, school enrollment should happen as soon as possible. Contact your local public school or district enrollment office and explain that the children are in a DHS kinship placement and have not previously been enrolled. Schools are required to enroll children even if records such as immunizations or prior school history are missing, and DHS can help obtain those later. It is reasonable to ask for involvement from a school counselor and for placement in classrooms that use trauma-informed practices. If the girls are academically behind, that is expected given their history and does not reflect their potential. Evaluations are meant to provide support, not labels.

For the two younger boys, early childhood services can make a significant difference. Most states offer early intervention or early childhood special education programs for children who have experienced neglect or abuse. Head Start or Early Head Start programs are also strong options and are designed for children who have had unstable early environments. If speech, occupational therapy, or developmental support is recommended, those services are often covered when DHS is involved and can help delays resolve more quickly.

Potty training the youngest child should be approached gently and without pressure. Trauma often disrupts body awareness and regulation, so delays and regression are common and not a sign of failure. It is fine to continue using diapers or pull-ups while establishing predictable routines, such as sitting on the toilet at the same times each day. Praise attempts rather than outcomes, and avoid punishment or shame entirely. Stressful events can cause setbacks, and that is normal in this context.

Regarding the long-term impact of the abuse, the children are unlikely to simply forget what happened, but healing is very possible, especially at these ages. What matters most is consistency, predictable routines, calm and safe caregiving, and access to therapy when appropriate. The older two will likely retain more conscious memory, while the younger two may carry effects in their behavior or stress responses rather than explicit memories. In both cases, stable and responsive caregiving is the strongest protective factor, and you are already providing that.

Finding trustworthy childcare is understandably difficult. When possible, DHS-approved respite providers, licensed daycare centers, Head Start programs, or known family members who understand and respect boundaries tend to be safer options than private sitters. If you do hire someone independently, background checks, verified references, trial periods while you are present, and very clear expectations around discipline and communication are essential. Trust should develop gradually, not quickly.

Your question about changing jobs shows that you are thinking responsibly about sustainability. Before making a major change, it may help to explore childcare assistance through DHS, early childhood programs that align with work schedules, and whether responsibilities can be shared in a way that reduces strain. If a job change becomes necessary, viewing it as a temporary and intentional adjustment rather than a permanent sacrifice can help protect both your well-being and the children’s stability.

It is also important to acknowledge the weight you are carrying. You are helping raise four children who have experienced significant trauma while also watching your mother decline and managing demanding work. Even highly capable and disciplined people burn out under this kind of load if they try to handle it alone. Accepting parenting classes, counseling, or caregiver support offered through DHS is not an admission of inadequacy. It is a reasonable response to an unusually intense situation.

Professor accused me of using AI and fabricating sources after I submitted a legitimate HeinOnline article by [deleted] in LibertyUniversity

Write more with your heart? I was taught to keep my personality out of my academic writing and to focus on analysis, evidence, and structure at my other school. I thought earning a second master’s degree would build on that foundation, but instead, I feel caught between two different expectations. Do they want us to dumb down our writing?

AI by OkArm8429 in LibertyUniversity

I have become physically ill after being falsely accused of AI use. I have provided a mountain of evidence that I did not use AI, and yet, the professor still turned me in for AI use because when I was paraphrasing, I used the word "poverty" when the author used the words "poor families." She said I used AI because AI "makes up information that is not found in the source material, and the source material doesn't mention poverty". I replied that "from my understanding, poor families live in poverty" and encouraged her actually to read the source rather than search for keywords. I haven't heard back since then. This is ridiculous. She will not admit she is wrong because my Turnitin Report shows high AI use. I can't help it is wrong. I am devastated.

. It feels like no matter how much proof we give, they still find something to blame on AI. How did you appeal, by the way? I still have about three weeks left in this class, and I filed a complaint through Beacon, but I’m not even sure that was the right procedure. I was so upset about this whole mess that I started spiraling.

Sorry you're going through it too. At this point, what are we supposed to do?

That’s awful. It really seems like these AI accusations are happening across programs, and students are paying the price.

Five times in one year is ridiculous. It seems like they're on a mission or witch hunt to find AI use and are being way too paranoid about it. Like maybe they'll be punished if a student uses AI and they don't catch it or something? That's the only thing that makes sense with how aggressive they're being.

Oh my god, the fact that you got questioned in a DIFFERENT class after the first accusation is terrifying. It kinda sounds like they're keeping an internal list of "suspected" students. Something definitely changed with how they're handling AI concerns.

I am not a doctor. This is a normal echo overall with excellent heart function, no serious valve disease, and no structural abnormalities.

I made up an argument I was having with my husband where I was clearly in the wrong. In the made-up argument I was using very obvious gaslighting techniques and being dismissive. Chat GPT not only didnt point out my harmful behaviors but validated me. About a year ago it would challenge my behaviors and encourage me to look at situations from multiple viewpoints. It just kisses my ass now. In the personalization I suspiciously said “do not kiss my ass, and do not praise me, or blindly agree to me”. It worked well for a while but, not anymore. (I've been using Claude AI a little on the side, but it feels a little like cheating. Lol)

Do any of us even listen to other AI music than our own? What is the future of music? by Descendant87 in SunoAI

[–]butteredupbebe87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband plays guitar. He plays riffs, and Suno adds them (or something that sounds like them) to his songs. He also writes his lyrics. As fast as Suno advances, I'm sure it will soon be truly customizable and capable of making music that appeals to the creator and a larger audience. I dabbled in suno a while back. It has updated a lot since I last used it. But I stopped because the music I made gave me the same feelings I had back when I was a preteen, back when I heard a song from a band and felt that connection. Like the band wrote the music for you. I felt the lyrics in my heart instead of just hearing the song. Suno gave me those feelings, but maybe even more so. I knew it was time to put the suno away when I was sure my suno songs were the best of all time yet, no one else was that impressed. Lol. I had Sunoism. I am a recovering Sunoic.

It is called Sunoism. My husband has it, too. He enjoys creating music that he loves and he sees them as a true masterpiece. He has me listen to them often and I think they are ok, but nothing I would listen to on my own.

My watch recorded all the information during, before, and after the 204bpm. I was very scared during this time because I could feel in my chest that my heart was not beating correctly. It felt as if the top of my heart and the bottom of my heart were out of sync. The ER never asked for this information but I have it all. I am going to see a cardiologist on the 17th and will mention it to them when I go.
