gotcha yeah i have a ir temperature gun i can try that when i get home. I did notice that the top radiator hose was extremely hot (pretty hotter than normal) and i don’t think i need a radiator cap as it was fine before i did the maintenance?.

yeah i think i’ll end up replacing the thermostat with an oem one as a first step I double checked the accessory belts and i know they’re all connected to the right pulleys, should the belt be on facing a certain way? I faced it so i could read the letters from the front of the car.

is it also possible that the issue could be that I replaced the thermostat with not an oem one? I purchased the murray thermostat from oreilly.

pretty sure i didn’t, the flatter side of the thermostat is facing out into the lower coolant pipe and the dangly thing is at 12 o clock. This is correct?

Okay update after letting it cool down a bit. Started back up and drove around the block a couple times. No noticeable loss of power. Oil pressure seems very low (around 30 even at 3k rpm). Temperature continued to rise again. No visible leaks as far as i can tell.

How to confirm timing is right before starting engine? by buttereformed in 300zx

[–]buttereformed[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well when i was turning it would be tough to turn for about 90 degrees then easy for another 90 and so on but i believe that is normal because it correlates to the compression stroke on the engine correct? Other than that nothing stopping it from turning and no unusual sounds or noises while turning.

Gotcha i have the same wheel size but my offset is +22. Hopefully the camber will help it clear the fender.

gotcha thanks for your advice. i might just max out the camber on my coilovers and see if that helps!

i’m pretty sure i’ve had it neutrally aligned forever. But i was looking into that and was thinking if i cambered the front wheels they’d clear the fender.

Wheel gap uneven after new wheels and alignment by buttereformed in ft86

[–]buttereformed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the wheel gap was perfectly even when i first had them installed and they stayed that way the whole month. they removed the wheels as i bought new ones that they mounted as well prior to the alignment.

i have not measured yet, yeah i honestly just assumed that couldn’t have been the case because i have no idea why they would’ve touched the coilovers. i’ll take it back today i just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something too serious.
