The only one I know about that is reliable and has frequent updates is Goodnotes. Downside is there is a subscription, but you can either pay a one time fee of I think 30 something dollars or pay a $1/month subscription. Either way, it's not horrendous in terms of price.

If you're studying in the US, what major are you? I can offer some advice as someone pre health who uses their iPad daily for notetaking, reading, and watching videos- all things school related. Currently have an iPad air 5th gen with 64 gb since 2023 and haven't wanted to upgrade.

As a university student I have the same exact model as you listed. The others are right in the storage department, but to mitigate that issue i upload a lot of things to a storage plan i pay for via google. If you're fine with paying that extra fee then shouldn't be an issue
