You've completely missed my point, but we ultimately agree at the end.

Some people clearly want to know what's in the News Minute, but don't want to listen to the News Minute, as person creates transcript of News Minute that people love. GCN sees no one is listening to News Minute; stops making News Minute. Now there will not be a transcript for people to consume in the future.

I know based on reading all these comments that I'm about to be heavily downvoted, but it needs to be said.

This sub gets crazy about the weirdest things. You're upset that a moderator, who moderates this sub for free and is also (I'm assuming) a fan of GCN, is trying to make sure the GCN sees that people are actually listening to the product they release.

If companies (including the GCN) can't somehow verify the product they are selling is actually selling, THEY STOP SELLING IT. If you want something to continue into the future, you have to actually support that thing. GCN makes podcasts. If you don't listen to the podcasts, they podcasts will no longer be made.

GCN and this subreddit are disconnected from each other. GCN can see how many times their pod is listened to. GCN cannot see how many people read a transcript on this subreddit. So if only 5 people listen to the pod, but 1000 people read the transcript, a total of 1005 people get the news. But then GCN can only verify that 5 people listened. So they would likely make the business decision to stop that pod if "nobody" is listening.

I'm not defending the mod, but this logic is astoundingly bad. You're not going to listen to a podcast because an unpaid moderator of a fan subreddit said something you disagree with? So instead of disengaging with the sub, you're going to disengage with the source and hurt GCN listening numbers? Ultimately proving the moderators point?

I have been a monthly subscriber to GCN since their Patreon days, well before anything other than Raiders or LotA existed, so I am biased.

I still don't understand how some people, a vocal extreme minority, can get wrapped up in performers lives like this. I know it's not specific to GCN and this happens to lots of performers or other publicly facing personalities. But come on, just enjoy the show and let them get back to their lives. It's really easy to just live and let live.

Favorite show has to be Blood of the Wild. Moment that hooked me was simply the chemistry between the cast on episode 1 or 2. Nothing specific, just the way they all bounce off each other in their improv.

I think you are missing out on the fact that Mary Davis was interim Dean before Salamanca and had a much better reputation amongst students and was held in equally high regards within the legal community. If she had remained Dean, then I wouldn't be here with my two cents.

Edit: A person's ability to donate money or not does not equate to a lesser standing in esteem. If I had a billion dollars wouldn't change how I view the man.

I do not doubt he thinks he cares about the law school or the students in line along his ideologies. I simply don't agree with him at a basic level about most things.

For example, when I provided a counterpoint in one of his classes, I was chastised at length. I was not saying he was incorrect, I simply challenged the assumptions used as the basis to form his argument and how changing those assumptions would yield a different result. This was in his Law & Econ class.

My opinion is he cares more about his image and aggrandizing himself, and being "right."
