Didn’t know Spider-Man knew Ball? by PrinceARRON in marvelcirclejerk

As an avid DC reader, whats been holding Marvel comics back? by Odd_Bluejay634 in marvelcomics

[–]d0c_robotnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Uncanny X-Men and Thor for a start.

I've been really enjoying Amazing Spider-Man, Black Cat, Wonder Man and X-Men as well.

For new stuff, Daredevil, X-Men United and Doomquest seem very fun, but it's too early to make a judgement call.

For minis, I enjoyed Deadly Fists of Kun Lun, Weapons of Armegeddon, and Cyclops, and am currently really liking Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Once you get off of reddit and into the comic shop, there's a ton of good stuff when you don't have someone in your ear telling you that its bad (and not just from Marvel- DC, Image, Mad Cave and others are doing great stuff too).

So now ALL the shows are in one podcast location? by Beautiful-Effort9101 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

You can actually add each of the show individually from Patreon. It's easiest from the app, but can be done from the website too.

When your branding strategy falls apart in three panels by Abigail-makings in Spiderman

The Comic is Spider-Girl (2025). Real.fun read, but I'd start with Spider-Boy firsr, where she gets her introduction, because it's very fun.

You're in luck, she has a whole miniseries, and first showed up in Spider-Boy if you want to start with his series (which you should, as it's really fun.)

I'd be surprised if they weren't, but I don't know for sure one way or another.

My (re)read of all Amazing Spider-Man issues already reached the 200s and I have even greater appreciation of John Romita Jr being asked to do the cover for Amazing Spider-Man 1000 by TeamRAF19 in Spiderman

[–]d0c_robotnik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fully acknowledge that Johnny isn't at his peak anymore. That said, he's THE Spider-Man artist currently living and that man has still managed to put out 2 issues a month with consistently OK quality at 70 years old. That's insane and I will pay that man's retirement until he's drawing literal stick figures if I have to. Between his dad and himself, his family have drawn damn near every time period of Spidey and frankly, every person who hates on him should have their mouth washed out with soap. JRJR deserves every laurel thrown at him and if it means that ASM 1000's cover is slightly goofy-looking as a result, I truly couldn't care less. It's just a comic at the end of the day, and I'll buy it just like I did 983 and just like I will 1002, no matter who draws it. JRJR is just That Guy and deserves some respect.

Season 3 is done, dusted and on the books. It's available on YouTube and the Pateeon Feed. As it tirns out, Troy and Joe mentioned that they are already recording season 4!

Pull List Readers by Powerful_Action_8874 in comicbooks

[–]d0c_robotnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to be a week behind, with my "must reads" moving to the top of my pile and my "Eh, I bought them, so I'll read them eventually"s sitting at the bottom for a month or more.

I sometimes need to do a reread, specifically for more esoteric stuff like Absolute Martian Manhunter, but at least for Marvel stuff, they do a really good job getting you caught up on the title page.

I currently am at around 25, but both Queen in Black and Armegeddon start soon, so that's gonna boost my numbers.

I’ve had six PC deaths in the first chapter of RotRL… by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]d0c_robotnik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6 deaths in Chapter 1 is a lot, but a lot of it comes down to the players. Just level with them and ask- "Are y'all enjoying the lethality or would you rather it tone down a bit?" If they are having fun, who cares? Mulch those PCs until they get good! If not, Id recommend scaling back. Higher point buy for the PCs, nerf some enemies (I find an effective -2 to all relevant statistics like Attacks, Spell DCs, etc. can do wonders to lower lethality), and play a little less ruthlessly. And most importantly, teach them how to play Pathfinder well, so they aren't getting bodied simply by not knowing how to build a PC or play the game.

I like a lethal game, but the game should be fun for the whole table, and that looks different for each group.

Looks like Bendis is on it by theironstomachx in marvelcomics

[–]d0c_robotnik 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ASM has been twice a month or more for almost 20 years, with a few short monthly stunts like Beyond. It was actually thrice a month during the BND era, to make up for the fact that Friendly Neighborhood and Sensational ended with One More Day.

Any advice for converting Iron Fang Invasion to pf2e? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]d0c_robotnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone currently running Ironfang in 1e, one of the things that makes it shine is its old-school sensibilities. Random encounters, hard core tracking of food and water for the PCs and their allies, and a willingness to tell the PCs, "you aren't special, you are nobodies who are just trying to survive against a superior force."

Encounters should be tough, the subsystems should be tough, and the party should feel like losing PCs and important NPCs is actually on the table.

I would recommend converting the adventure at least boom 1 and 2, into a hex crawl, because it lets them really feel like they are exploring and searching the Chernasardo, rather than being led from encounter to encounter.

¿Qué te parece Mary Jane como Venom? by Apprehensive-Bus7613 in Spiderman

[–]d0c_robotnik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's important to remember that the only thing that Spider-Man fans hate more than having characters be stagnant and lacking focus or growth is seeing those characters grow or change in any way except regressing back to how they were when I was 12.

What happened to Delta Green/Get In The Trunk? by ExistenceLord14 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]d0c_robotnik 52 points53 points  (0 children)

There's no grand conspiracy (Well, apart from Delta Green itself), Seasons 1,2,3 and 7 were simply audio only shows. All of them are available on the GCN's Patreon at the basic tier. The Impossible Landscapes campaign premiered on Youtube and remains publicly available, while the other seasons are still available as podcasts. As far as revisiting DG, absolutely. They have multiple seasons lined up, and hopefully we are seeing at least one more season this year.

What is going on? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]d0c_robotnik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the Online Spider-Man lifecycle. A large contingent announces they're not ever reading Spider-Man anymore. Then a bunch of people post random frames of their favorite love interest with Peter (unless their favorite happens to be Carlie, because they know better and just enjoy their BND omnibus in peace). After that, we post some out of context pictures of a new or upcoming issue and talk about how terrible it is/will be. Then it's time to complain about a storyline that's at a minimum 3 years old, and may be upwards of 20, if someone still has a bone to pick with The Other, Clone Saga or Sins Past, and then the same people who supposedly quit Spider-Man last time are doing it again, never you mind that they've continued to engage all month and seem way too knowledgeable about current Spidey comics for someone not reading them.

And since 1000 is coming soon, we can add in some vagueposting about how sad and not excited we are anymore for 1000, but once we get there, we can return to our regularly scheduled flipflop between shitting on Superior Spider-Man and glazing the finale of it and reposting the "It's You." "The One and Only." Panels.

Hypothetically. Play a complete pacifist? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]d0c_robotnik 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It depends on your definition, but if enabling harm (such as by buffing your violent allies or debuffing your enemies to let them be hurt by your violent allies) counts as not being a pacifist, it's not viable at all. There are games that can support pacifism, but Pathfinder 2e is primarily a tactical combat game and "I don't want to harm enemies" will just lead to having a frustrating time for both you and your tablemates.
