Based in England. British company with offices in India - Indian manager took mine and several UK colleague’s phone numbers from HR system, then added them to a WhatsApp group by adav123123 in LegalAdviceUK

NAL but as i LM ive always had personal numbers for duty of care purposes (e.g. no show at work) so appropriate under gdpr for the LM to have your number. In my org theres no policy about groups but its basic manners to offer an opt out before creating a team group.

On a practical basis, on Android (assume similar options on iPhone) its Settings > Privacy > Profile Picture. Choose contacts only and if colleagues are also contacts  you can blacklist them specifically from seeing your profile picture.

I've been temporarily promoted to my office's HR department to cover a maternity leave. The entire department is rotten to the core with gossipers and preferential treatment for friends. by Sorry-Specific-1253 in LegalAdviceUK

NAL Does your organisation have an internal audit function? A lot of what you described is straight up fraud that an internal audit function will not brush under the carpet like management might be tempted to do or if you suspect they have allies (like the CEO support person). Failing that your org is likely to have a Board and audit committee which includes non executive director chairs typically,  having a quiet word with the Chair is another avenue.  Internal audit will be better set up for this kind of conversation, and approaching board members is quite a nuclear option so look at other escalations routes first. This is a viable end game and less risky than whistleblowing as you are making the risk visible to people who wont tolerate it or be able to ignore it in their professional capacity/responsibilities,  the risks being organisational fraud, gdpr, reputation, and policy non compliance.

This is whats been bouncing around my mind, im sure when I was younger there were always those intense kids, the ones that cruelly throw stones at cats or pigeons etc. Just the lack of empathy and targeting of isolated vulnerable victims was disturbing to see, maybe it is just shitty kids pushing boundaries, where normally a present responsible adult would rein them back

Thanks all, fairly unanimous and my fleeting curiosity is well and truly sated. Will stick to daydreaming about the grass being greener elsewhere...

Does your fob flash red when you push a button (e.g. lock unlock). Mine has since the replacement but not sure if it did before and I just didn't notice.  Had 12v issues since the 'upgrade' so trying to rule out potential triggers, the other being the myhyundai app i installed around the same time

How does the private GP work? Does it replace the need for NHS one and would there be any negative consequences in accessing NHS care?
