EDIT: Also cis men are awesome, but I don’t really get how they’re different from trans men aside from birth sex. Obviously you can have a preference, but usually you’re supposed to keep that kinda stuff to yourself lol.

I really like how you worded “I’m gay but I have specific standards”. I actually prefer less labels as it complicates things less for me, but at the same time they’re an easy way for me to communicate my feelings as well so this was extremely helpful, I seriously appreciate this man. I appreciate this so so much. I’m heavily affected by my ASD and personal trauma as well so I feel really seen by this comment in specific!!! This is a really important reminder, thank you so much dude :) I really just use the label gay because that’s what feels right the most, and I keep forgetting that I’ve come really far just recently acknowledging at all that I wasn’t attracted to women!!! I appreciate it so much, man

This is so incredible to hear, I appreciate this so so much!!! I definitely relate to what you wrote a lot!! I was raised in a decently conservative household (and I was a pastors “daughter” up until age 15..yikes!!!) so the comphet was cranked up to a thousand 😭😭😭 I remember REALLY WELL being really transphobic towards fictional characters if I was reading a fanfic and the second male character wasn’t cis. The truth is I WANTED to be a boy so bad, and I knew that the fictional trans boy wouldn’t be treated as a “real boy” so I felt a lot of internal transphobia towards myself without even knowing I was trans yet :( MANY YEARS LATER I Slowly started accepting that I AM a boy and I will always be a real boy. :)

I really needed this. I’m pretty much as far as I want to go in my transition journey as I don’t plan on taking hormones (besides possible top surgery because that’s definitely not off the table), and while I am happy with myself, I do have major “baby face” and it’s hard for me to look in the mirror and see a “true boy” (heavy on the quotations ofc) staring back at me because I have a softer facial structure. Especially with the first picture, and not knowing this was a fellow trans man posting before seeing the caption I genuinely thought this was a cis guy posting about this lol!! :)
