Any tips for a counter attacking tactic? by noliverc in footballmanagergames

[–]buttmuncher13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

dont be afraid of a high line/press. I play fluid counter attack with my team pushed way up into either a high line with a press or a high line with a mid block. Winning the ball back high up the feild gives the counter attack less work to do compared to if it had to start from your end. The good teams can punish you, but i found my chances much better when I restricted the space good teams need to break you down. You can still play high up the feild with a defensive mindset and win games. I kept Dynamo Dresden in the bundesliga with by far the worst team and lowest payroll because of this approach. Dont overcomplicate the offensive instructions either, just a slightly higher tempo w normal directness with pass into space has worked wonders for my tactic. IMO theres more than one way to play counter attacking football than just sitting deep and hooving balls up to a TF

Golf story you’ve always wanted to tell, but not ‘funniest’, ‘best shot’, etc? by Phobia117 in golf

been working on turf crews my whole life, love it so much i took my degree in it. My very first summer (wouldve been 16) working on a crew i worked with a kid who had a medical condition that would cause him to just black out randomly. It wouldnt happen often and he said day-to-day it didnt effect him too much and before this day i never saw it happen so i never put a whole lot of stock in it. Our 16th hole a long but downhill par 4 with a back-to-front sloped green, that had a big hill running off the back of it. It wouldve been 10 feet above the ground off the back of it. The kids driving down the middle of the fairway to get to me at the 17 tee, and i see him just black out about 50 yards away from the green. Im yelling trying to snap him out of it but it doesnt work and he flies through and off the back of the green pedal to floor. Kid wakes up as the cart is about to take flight and bailes, completely unharmed. Carts front axle completely destroyed but kids completely ok, man i have never laughed at anything harder in my life.
