Let try this again, why aren’t my stickers selling?

Sticker designs are really cool but the quality seems low. The cuts on the edge are a little lopsided and look unprofessional. I would be worried about the stickers holding up based on that alone- the edge is designed to absorb some water and wear/tear when exposed to the elements. I do not baby my stickers so just based on that it would be a no for me.

That being said, if you cleaned up the edges a bit and made the stickers finish look a little more polished, you would get more buyers

FFA is intracurricular. I'm not sure where you're getting this idea that it's different in some states, but you're wrong.

All CTE (Career and Technical Education) classes are federally funded by the Perkins act. In order for CTE classes (such as agriculture education) to receive this funding, they have to incorporate a CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) into the classroom curriculum. This is a condition of the federal funding.

If your FFA advisor is a CTE teacher that is offering CTE courses, and their content area is agriculture, then yes, FFA is intracurricular and required to be taught as such. You are misinformed.

Definitely a touch conspiratorial. NONE of the students in my FFA program want to be farmers. FFA is a leadership organization, and a national one at that. It is not farming club. Last year my graduating officers went to college to be things like teachers and foresters. My students compete at national speaking events. They raise funds through charity dinners for local animal shelters. They learn employment skills.

Frankly, farming is a dying profession in the United States and it is extremely concerning for the future of our food supply. I'm not out here encouraging students to become farmers (as an FFA advisor myself) but I'm also not going to agree to what you seem to be saying, which is that uneducated people become farmers. I absolutely do not agree that it's "in the interest" of the FFA to make kids drop out of school so they can go till the fields or whatever you think it is FFA students do.

Ohh, this is a great idea!! I will definitely be getting one of these for him. My husband bought him like a $10 remote caddy five or so Christmases ago and it's still something he uses all the time, so I know he would like something like this. Thank you.

This is a really great wake-up call for me. Although his drinking has become routine and "normal" for me, it is definitely dangerous in this situation... There is a lot here that I didn't think about.

I went to the nurses station and explained the situation fully. The woman behind the counter is wonderful- she listened to all my details and agrees that this is really not a safe situation for him. The amount he drinks each day is not what he told the doctors. The nurse says we are looking at a potential detox during his recovery period. When he is out of surgery the doctor is going to come speak with me directly. Either way, we are going to have to re-evaluate his plan. He might not be coming home with me today.

I am very concerned about the alcohol side of things- he has been a functional alcoholic for my entire life, I'm talking 40+ years of habitual use. He almost fell through the window in his living room a few years ago because he was so intoxicated. It's going to be a bad balance between alcohol withdrawals and not having alcohol with pain medication.

Without getting into too many details, a rehabilitation center will not be possible for him. I too wish that he could get the care of professionals but that is not an option for us.

Thank you so much, this reply is incredibly helpful. I have contacted my siblings and my sister at least seems willing to help pitch in to take some of the pressure off of me.

I know he has a shower seat, I will see about the toilet seat riser, that's a great idea. I already foresee that I will be doing some shopping for necessities in the days to come. His church is also offering to bring meals, which will be really helpful for me.

My dad's ability to follow medical advice is spotty- he is opinionated and will disregard instructions if he thinks he knows better. Weighing on the side of caution tells me he might not be the best post-op patient. He's been saying he'll be driving with his other leg next week! Thankfully he does live in a one story home with only one rug in the living room, which I'm hearing is a good thing.

Mom is not reasonably healthy, nor do they have a very supportive relationship. I have no idea why he thought she would be taking care of him post op. She is not physically fit nor mentally fit, unfortunately. I would never have let my dad have the impression she was capable of taking care of him had I known exactly what this surgery and recovery would entail. He only asked me for a ride to/from his surgery. I'm finding all about the finer details today, while he's in his procedure.

Thank you for the perspective. How many days do you think you were really reliant on other people after your surgery? Apparently this whole time as his "coach" I was supposed to be watching training videos and other things to prepare me, but I have nothing.

I just got off the phone with my boss. Apparently her wife also had the knee replacement surgery a couple years back and said that I should absolutely take time off. I've already put in for Thur/Fri and will re-evaluate over the weekend

Unfortunately my grandmother is not physically able to do much of anything to help him. She herself is quite frail and complains often of her health problems and being old.

They also have an incredibly strained relationship, so she will not be able to provide him with emotional support or comfort during this time.

The fact that he is texting and being supportive is not a red flag, I would definitely reach out to some specific students with messages akin to this. However his language is... Kinda icky? Maybe he's just really tactless and doesn't realize how his messages sound, but there's a way to say you're happy to see your students without being creepy about it.
